CoinShares closed a significant chapter today after it terminated its U.S. XRP ETF plans. The company filed a full withdrawal with the SEC, bringing an end to a product that once aimed to enter a rapidly expanding market. The move caught interest because it arrived amid high anticipation for XRP ETF launches.

Diana (@InvestWithD), a well-known crypto analyst, shared the filing and pointed out that CoinShares did not opt for a temporary pause. She noted that the Form RW signaled a final decision rather than a strategic reset.

The filing shows a clear message. CoinShares stated that the transaction it planned “was not effectuated.” It also confirmed that no shares were sold. The company chose to end the entire registration process instead of shifting it to the SEC’s new fast-track path.

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: 𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐗𝐑𝐏 𝐄𝐓𝐅 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫— 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬

CoinShares officially withdrew their entire U.S. $XRP ETF filing today. Not paused. Not delayed. 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲… pic.twitter.com/pch5U7fpKV

— Diana (@InvestWithD) November 28, 2025

Market Conditions Behind the Decision

The U.S. ETF market changed swiftly during this cycle. Major firms now dominate the space. Diana pointed to the strength of firms like BlackRock, Bitwise, and Franklin Templeton as a central part of the pressure smaller issuers face.

Their scale makes it difficult for new entrants to compete on cost, liquidity, and marketing reach. While BlackRock has yet to join the XRP ETF race, many market participants expect it to happen. Experts have also revealed that 12 XRP ETFs are ready to launch. CoinShares appears to be adjusting its priorities to avoid competition.

CoinShares also recently sought a major strategic shift through its Nasdaq merger. The company is moving toward a model that focuses on global expansion and diversified revenue streams. A U.S. XRP ETF may no longer fit into that plan.

Why This Does Not Harm the XRP Market

This withdrawal does not signal reduced interest in XRP. It instead reflects the current state of competition in the ETF industry. Firms without a deep distribution network face high costs to enter a segment where fee compression limits future returns.

Four of the major funds in the market today pulled in a trading volume of over $85 million on Monday. Institutional interest in XRP is at record levels. The XRP ETF landscape continues to grow despite CoinShares’ decision to leave.

Diana pointed out that 21Shares is preparing to launch its XRP ETF early next week. Market participants expect heavy interest around that debut. Its arrival will keep liquidity flowing into the XRP segment even without CoinShares in the mix.

Large issuers maintain a strong presence in the digital asset ETF arena. Many analysts expect BlackRock to enter the XRP ETF market soon, which would create a major shift in visibility and inflows. The foundation for long-term growth remains in place.

The cryptocurrency market is on the verge of a pivotal moment. The launch of the first U.S.-listed spot XRP ETFs could happen next week, marking a significant milestone in traditional finance’s adoption of this major altcoin.

What the DTCC Listing Reveals

According to Coin Bureau’s post on X, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) recently listed five spot XRP ETFs under its “active and pre-launch” category — specifically vehicles from Bitwise Asset Management, Franklin Templeton Investments, 21Shares, Canary Capital, and CoinShares.

Inclusion in DTCC’s active/pre-launch registry indicates that operational readiness steps — such as custody arrangements and settlement processing — are in place for these funds.

That said, this listing does not amount to formal regulatory approval by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Approval remains the final gatekeeper.

BREAKING: The first U.S. spot #XRP ETFs could launch next week.

The DTCC just listed five spot XRP ETFS from Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, 21Shares, Canary, and CoinShares under its "active and pre-launch" category. pic.twitter.com/h1HQRpaEsm

— Coin Bureau (@coinbureau) November 10, 2025

Regulatory and Market Context

The broader regulatory landscape dramatically shifted on September 18, 2025, when the SEC approved rule changes allowing national exchanges to adopt generic listing standards for certain spot crypto ETFs — thereby drastically reducing the time and complexity required for listing.

With the launch of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs now behind us, issuers are keen to replicate that window of opportunity with other large-market-cap tokens such as XRP. The firms’ coordinated filing amendments indicate they’re preparing for a launch.

Why This Matters for XRP and the Market

If one or more of these spot XRP ETFs begin trading next week, institutional access to XRP could broaden significantly. ETFs offer a regulated, familiar pathway for capital flow into underlying crypto assets, which may enhance liquidity, narrow spreads, and bring new investor classes into the fold.

The anticipation of the launch has already boosted XRP’s price and trading volume. For instance, XRP rose more than 8% in a session as ETF expectations mounted.

We are on X, follow us to connect with us :- @TimesTabloid1

— TimesTabloid (@TimesTabloid1) June 15, 2025

Moreover, a successful launch could pave the way for further altcoin ETFs and accelerate the integration of crypto into mainstream asset portfolios.

Risks & Timing Considerations

Despite the optimism, investors must remain mindful of caveats. Listing on the DTCC does not equal SEC approval. Final regulatory sign-off could still face delays or require additional disclosures.

Additionally, the magnitude and timing of fund inflows will depend heavily on issuer market-making infrastructure and investor demand, which can be unpredictable.

Given these factors, market watchers will be looking for formal exchange notices announcing ticker symbols, launch dates, and trading venues — these are the final stepping stones before live trading begins.

Outlook

All signs currently point toward a launch window in mid-November, possibly as early as next week. If approved, the first wave of U.S. spot XRP ETFs may go live shortly, marking a notable milestone for the token and the broader digital-asset ecosystem. For crypto journalists, academics, and traders alike, this development merits close attention.

CoinShares, the popular crypto assets manager, has revealed that institutional investors are currently buying up XRP as the digital asset saw massive inflows for the third week in a row.

According to CoinShares’ latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly report, XRP saw a boost in institutional inflows for the third week, suggesting that investors are gaining confidence in the ongoing lawsuit between Ripple Inc. and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Read Also: XRP and Cardano (ADA) Finished Strong Last Week In Terms of Inflows –CoinShares Reports

In December 2020, the SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple for allegedly selling XRP as an unregistered security for about seven years. But recent developments in the Ripple and XRP’s camp have been positive for the digital asset.

A total of 12 amicus briefs have so far been filed in favor of Ripple, giving some experts a reason to assert that the regulator is getting weaker in its argument.

The report read in part:

“XRP saw inflows for the third week totaling $1.1 million implying improving investor confidence as the SEC case against Ripple looks increasingly fragile.”

As for other crypto investment products, over $15 million flowed out in the first week of November. Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, took the largest share with $13 million in outflows last week.

According to CoinShares, North American investors sold more last week than their European counterparts.

The report further noted:

“This follows a seven-week run of inflows and comes after the FOMC [Federal Open Market Committee] raised interest rates by a further 75 basis points…

“The negative activity was focused on the Americas, with the US, Canada and Brazil seeing outflows of $21 million, $2.1 million and $1.8 million respectively. This was offset by inflows from Germany at $4 million and Switzerland at $6.8 million.”

It’s not strange that only a few cryptocurrencies ended the week on a high note in terms of inflows as it was overwhelmed by unrelenting bears. Howbeit, CoinShares’ latest weekly fund flow report shows that Ripple’s digital token XRP and Cardano (ADA) managed to gain investors’ interest.

According to the report, Cardano (ADA) ended the week with inflows valued at relatively $500,000. Similarly, the embattled digital token XRP gained about $300,000 in terms of positive fund flow.

Although the aforementioned amounts are small, the flagship crypto Bitcoin (BTC) rather saw a massive outflow of $15.7 million over the last week. Solana (SOL) was also among the best losers with a total outflow of $1.4 million.

On the other hand, Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, ended the week with the highest value of inflows ($2.9 million). Binance Coin (BNB) also recorded an amount similar to that of Cardano (ADA).

Why the Inflows into Ethereum, Cardano, and XRP?

Ethereum (ETH) being the digital asset with the highest value of inflows was never a coincidence considering the fact the blockchain is now counting down to the Merge. There is certainly a hype around the much-anticipated transition of the blockchain to the proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.

Similarly, the Cardano blockchain is awaiting the Vasil upgrade. Although alarms were raised after a bug was identified last week, which created controversy within the community, a new report says the testnet version is now working smoothly.

As for XRP, Ripple’s progress in the ongoing lawsuit with the SEC can be seen as a positive signal for investors.

According to CoinShares estimates, despite that market volumes have been extremely low, both Cardano (ADA) and Ripple’s digital token XRP continue to bring funds in at 55% of the annual average and the second lowest for the entire year.

Digital assets manager CoinShares has revealed that institutional investors are largely dumping their Ethereum positions in favor of one of its biggest competitors, Solana (SOL), amid the current market downturn.

In the latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly report, CoinShares revealed that Ethereum investment products have suffered over 10 weeks of successive outflows at a time when The Merge is closer than ever.

We Are On Twitter: Follow Us

According to the report, as Ethereum (ETH) continues its weekly loss, Solana (SOL) seems to be benefitting.

The report read in part:

“Ethereum continues to suffer with outflows totaling $70 million last week having suffered 11 straight weeks of outflows, bringing year-to-date outflows to $459 million. Solana looks to be benefitting from investors’ worries over The Merge (ETH2), with inflows of $0.7 million last week and $109 million year-to-date.”

Source: CoinShares

On the other hand, CoinShares’ report says that the Institutional Investment products of Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, saw inflows totaling $28 million last week.

“Bitcoin saw inflows totaling $28 million last week and looks to be benefitting from weak prices with month-to-date inflows at $46 million.”

According to the firm, despite Bitcoin’s inflows, the overall digital asset investment product market still suffered about $40 million in outflows over the last week. Howbeit, the year-to-year flows remain positive at $403 million.

Other altcoin products that experienced outflows last week are Cardano (ADA), Polkadot (DOT), and Tron (TRX). But Binance Coin (BNB) and Litecoin (LTC) investment products enjoyed inflows.

In a recent survey conducted by the crypto-asset investing platform CoinShares, it’s revealed that three digital currencies, including Ripple’s XRP, Cardano (ADA), and Polkadot (DOT) have started to effectively attract investors’ funds away from the largest smart contract platform Ethereum (ETH).

In the May 2022 report published by CoinShares, as investor dollars allocated to Ethereum (ETH) move in the opposite direction, it’s stated that the aforementioned digital assets (XRP, ADA, and DOT) continue to attract more investors.

Read Also: CoinShares: Ethereum Competitors, Cardano, Solana, Polkadot See Institutional Inflows

The report reads in part:

While positions on Bitcoin have changed little, investors are increasingly adding to altcoins. The survey highlights increasing allocations to Polkadot, Cardano and XRP at the expense of Ethereum.”

The CoinShares’ May 2022, which was conducted among investors managing relatively $200 billion worth of assets, about 20% of the investors have allocated to Ethereum (ETH), down from relatively 25% recorded during the March 2022 survey.

As for Ripple’s digital token XRP, the number of investors allocating funds to it has gained around 6% from about 4% registered in the previous month’s survey.

Whereas, the investors’ allocation to Cardano (ADA) rose from 5% to about 12%. While that of Polkadot (DOT) has increased from around 9% to about 13%.

As stated in the survey, the reasons they chose to invest in crypto assets include diversification and speculation:

“We saw a big rise in investors adding to positions for speculative reasons, having risen from 20% to 27%.

Diversification remains a key reason for investing in digital assets, although it has declined, likely due to Bitcoin’s increased correlation to tech stocks and skepticism over its true diversification merits.”

According to a recent report from a leading digital assets manager, geographical tensions have not been able to stop institutional investors from increasing their crypto positions in North America.

As shared by CoinShares in its latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly report, over $125 million flowed into digital investment products last week.

The report reads in part as follows:

“Digital asset investment products saw inflows totaling $127 million last week, an uptick on the previous week, suggesting investors remain supportive of digital assets despite recent geopolitical events.”

The flagship cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC) saw the largest inflows since December 2021 in its 7th consecutive week of inflows:

“Bitcoin saw inflows totaling $95 million last week, the largest single weekly inflow since early December 2021, and has now seen seven consecutive weeks of inflows.”

Altcoins such as Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Cardano (ADA), and XRP enjoyed inflows of $25 million, $0.4 million, $0.9 million, and $0.4 million, respectively. Multi-asset investment products enjoyed a similar fate.

According to the report, most of the institutional investment inflows hailed from North America, canceling out the outflows in Europe.

“Multi-asset (multiple coins) investment products continued to see inflows which totaled $6.8 million last week. Multi-asset, on a relative basis, has seen the most inflows year-to-date, totaling $104 million…”

“The positive sentiment was centered in North America with inflows totaling $150 million versus outflows in Europe totaling $24 million.”

On the other hand, a number of top cryptocurrencies, including Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), and Binance Coin (BNB), suffered whopping outflows last week.

“Altcoin fortunes were mixed last week, with outflows from Solana ($1.7 million), Polkadot ($0.9 million), and Binance ($0.4 million).”

Crypto asset manager CoinShares reported that the recovery trend showcased by the crypto market last week resulted in notable institutional investments inflows for many top cryptocurrencies. However, Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest crypto by market cap, lags behind once again.

According to the latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly report, the flagship cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), recorded the largest share of institutional investments last week.

CoinShares noted:

“Bitcoin continues to lead the inflows with US$71m last week, the largest since early December with this 3-week run of inflows totaling US$108m. Volumes in Bitcoin investment products remained low last week at US$1.8bn versus US$3.4bn the previous week.”

Institutional Inflows into Cardano, Solana, Polkadot

In the report, it’s shown that top Ethereum competitors, including Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), Terra (LUNA), and Cardano (ADA), saw institutional investments inflows totaling, $2.4 million, $2.2 million, $1.4 million and $1.1 million.

As for Terra (LUNA), this was its first week of recording such significant institutional investments inflows.

On the other hand, the largest smart contracts platform, Ethereum (ETH), extended its weeks of outflows to nine, after losing $8.5 million in institutional investments last week.

“Investment products flows for Ethereum suggest investors remain bearish with outflows of US$8.5m, having entered the 9th week run of outflows totaling US$280m…”

Based on a report released by CoinShares, an institutional asset manager, crypto funds have continued to release money into cryptocurrency, raking in over $226 million over the last week.

Obviously, Bitcoin (BTC), the most popular cryptocurrency, has the largest share of the notable inflows. This can be attributed to the narrative about United States securities regulators potentially approving a futures-based Bitcoin exchange-traded fund, which has also been aiding the rise in the price of the digital currency.

Minor Inflows into Cardano (ADA) and Solana (SOL)

As Bitcoin (BTC) tops inflows ranking, Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) also recorded minor inflows.

According to CoinShares, Solana and Cardano recorded $12.5 million and $3 million inflows respectively.

But the reverse is the case for Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Based on the institutional asset manager’s report, Ethereum funds lost $14 million, plummeting 25% from the beginning of September.

Other digital currencies such as XRP, Polkadot (DOT), Litecoin (LTC), among others, are also in the red.

As Ethereum (ETH) and Cardano (ADA) enjoy institutional inflows into crypto investment products, Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, continues to lag behind.

According to the institutional asset manager, CoinShares’ Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly report, there was an overall inflow of $24 million to altcoin-based investment products.

Read Also: deVere Group CEO: Ethereum (ETH) Value Will Overtake That Of Bitcoin (BTC) Within Five Years

The capital flow is the second week of inflows in a row to altcoin funds, with investments into altcoin products surging by 14.3% compared to $21 million recorded last week.

According to CoinShares’ report, Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest crypto by market capitalization, was the most favored digital asset among institutional investors.

The report says that Ethereum-based products recorded a weekly inflow of $17.2 million. The products tracking ETH and other altcoins now take 32% of the total assets under the management of the institutional asset manager.

Cardano (ADA) Also Gained Institutional Trust

Cardano-based institutional funds also recorded their highest weekly inflows of $10.1 million on the sector, representing 32% of the week’s total altcoin inflows.

Currently, Cardano-based instruments now hold 0.15% of the capital locked in crypto investment products combined.

The notable increase in Cardano inflows can simply be attributed to the anticipation for 12th September 2021, when Alonzo mainnet launch, which will activate smart contracts functionality on Cardano, is estimated to play out.

Bitcoin (BTC) Lags Behind

Bitcoin (BTC) products continue to experience outflows despite the bullishness of altcoins. According to the report, Bitcoin products recorded a loss of $3.8 million for the period. This implies that outflows have dominated Bitcoin products for 14 of the past 16 weeks.
