Cardano (ADA) Wallets Created Hits All-Time High

The total number of wallets created on the Cardano network has reached a new milestone. Despite the further delay of the anticipated Vasil upgrade, the entire ADA wallets in existence have surpassed 3.5 million. ADA delegators on the blockchain are increasing simultaneously.

According to the updated data collected from Cardano Blockchain Insights on August 4 by Timestabloid, wallets created on one of the largest smart contracts platforms, Cardano, have hit an all-time high.

At the time of writing, the total number of wallets on the Cardano network is 3,502,500. While the total number of ADA delegators on the chain is 1,172,839. Data shows that in the last two months, over 1500 wallets were created daily.

Meanwhile, the number of smart contracts on the platform exceeded 3,000 for the first time on August 1. At the time of press, as seen on the Cardano Blockchain Insights platform, the number has reached 3024.

Cardano Blockchain Grows

Cardano blockchain continues to grow bigger as its adoption rate increases among players in the crypto industry and other entities.

This growing adoption rate of the 8th largest cryptocurrency project by market capitalization could be attributed to the stable and scalable state of the platform.

Unlike the Solana blockchain which has recorded multiple outages this year alone and other security issues, Cardano has operated for about five years without any case of a network outage. Over 5000 Solana wallets have been drained in a recent hack case.

The legal custodians of Cardano, Input Output Global (IOG), tasked with the development of the smart contract platform, have been working on making Cardano a more scalable and interoperable network.

However, the Cardano Vasil upgrade has met several postponements and holdups. In response, the CEO of Input Output Global, Charles Hoskinson noted that the elements causing the Vasil upgrade to be delayed are considerably small.

On-chain data reveals that Cardano (ADA) shark addresses have collectively acquired almost 80 million ADA tokens in the past month. Reportedly, while ADA sharks have begun to come alive in the market, Cardano whales have ceased dumping their tokens.

According to Santiment, an on-chain data and social metrics service provider, Cardano investors are taking advantage of the crypto winter, in proper positioning for the Vasil upgrade that is just around the corner.

In particular, Cardano shark addresses holding between 10,000 to 100,000 ADA tokens are hugely accumulating more ADA tokens as the asset’s price continues to stay from its all-time high.

Collectively, this category of investors has acquired a whopping 79.1 million ADA in just 30 days. On the other hand, Cardano whales, investors holding between 100,000 to 10,000,000 ADA tokens have stopped their massive token dumping. This signals their faith in the blockchain project.

Generally, the crypto market has entered a bear season as seen in the huge price decline of many assets. Cardano (ADA) equally experienced massive token sell-offs as investors panicked. This resulted in the token’s value tumbling over 27% in the last 30 days.

However, some investors are taking advantage of the price discount to boost their ADA holdings while expecting a positive market run as the Vasil upgrade on Cardano mainnet nears.

Vasil Upgrade on Cardano Mainnet Approaches

Vasil upgrade on Cardano mainnet is the next big event for the blockchain project. Being a complex upgrade, the IOG team has been employing measures that will result in a stable and successful upgrade.

For this reason, the Vasil upgrade could not be implemented in June as initially scheduled when some minor bugs were detected. Later on, Charles Hoskinson, Cardano creator noted that the crash of Terra (LUNA) triggered the upgrade postponement to a new date.

In late June, the final candidate before the anticipated mainnet hard fork, Cardano Node 1.35.0 was released. Subsequently, the Input Output Global (IOG) developers team confirmed the successful Vasil upgrade on Cardano’s testnet on June 3.

Up next is the mainnet upgrade and it appears Cardano sharks and whales are getting well-positioned for the bullish event as they keep accumulating ADA tokens.

Recently, some Twitter users rolled out claims that Cardano’s smart contracts are not compatible with the Vasil upgrade. However, Tim Harrison, vice president of the IOG, refuted the FUD about the impending Vasil hard fork.

Cardano Whales Purchased Nearly 200 Million ADA in Five Weeks

Despite the lethargic price movement in the market since the beginning of the year, Cardano (ADA) whales have continued to showcase optimism on the future prospect of ADA price.

As recently reported by the crypto analytics platform Santiment, Cardano whale addresses holding between 1 million and 10 million ADA have been on an accumulation spree over the past five weeks despite its price hovering around 15-month low levels. In total, this group of Cardano whales has accumulated relatively 200 million ADA within the aforementioned period.

Santiment tweeted, “Cardano whale addresses holding 1M to 10M ADA are accumulating their bags these past 5 weeks (196M more ADA) after a 7-month stretch of dumping (-1.7M less ADA). The 9th largest market cap asset recently hit prices last this low in February, 2021.”

The change in whale sentiment comes after months of dumping ADA tokens which drove the price of the 9th largest cryptocurrency down by 75% since its peak in September 2021 to a February low. A spike in buying pressure could essentially mean that the whales are eyeing potential recovery in the near term. This demand barrier could act as a formidable support floor at $0.8.

Cardano picked up significant network activity in the first quarter of the year. Large transaction volume (LTV) on the blockchain suggested a rise in institutional demand.

Since the beginning of the year, the LTV rose from 1.35 billion ADA per day to 69 billion ADA, changing hands on Cardano, more than a 50x increase in just three months.

This was revealed by yet another prominent analytic platform, IntoTheBlock. In fact, a 216% hike in transaction volume was seen in the past year. Howbeit, the latest data compiled by ITB depicts that the metric has slumped since April.

DApps and Solutions Push Cardano Addresses Holding ADA to New All-Time High of 5.1 Million

It’s now clear that the Cardano network has embarked on significant growth considering the number of decentralized applications (DApps) and various solutions building on top of the blockchain. This is also behind the massive increase in the number of holders, which has recently hit a new all-time high.

About a year ago, the number of addresses on the Cardano network was hovering around 2.6 million. But things have drastically changed in the ecosystem since the mainnet launch of Alonzo on 12th September 2021, which activated smart contracts functionality on the Cardano blockchain.

According to the data shared by the crypto intelligence platform IntoTheBlock, Cardano (ADA) holders are on the increase on a daily basis.

Based on the report, the number of Cardano addresses with a balance has just attained a new all-time high of 5.09 million, which implies that the number has experienced 48.8% year-to-date.

As aforementioned, the notable growth of the Cardano network over the past 12 months can be attributed to Dapps and solutions built on top of the blockchain, via the implementation of Alonzo hardfork in September 2021.

Some solutions have launched while a lot more are preparing to go live on the blockchain in the coming months.

So, considering development and fundamental growth, which would initiate high demand for decentralized finance (DeFi) on the network, it can be deduced that Cardano is just starting to advance into an era of records.

Cardano Whales Have Purchased More Than 4 Billion ADA In 2022

Crypto whales in the Cardano ecosystem have continued their ADA accumulation since the start of 2022, according to the recent data provided by IntoTheBlock.

IntoTheBlock revealed that Cardano addresses holding between 1 million and 10 million ADA have grown massively this year.

The data shows that the number of ADA held in these addresses has grown massively from 8.09 billion to 12.19 billion since the beginning of the year. This implies that the addresses in this category have accumulated more than 4 billion ADA year-to-date.

The analytic platform also disclosed that the number of ADA held in these addresses attained an all-time high of 12.47 billion on 1st March 2022, indicating the massive growth of the Cardano network in less than three months into 2022.

Similarly, Ali Martinez, a popular crypto analyst, shared the data from sentiment confirming that Cardano whales are on an ADA buying spree.

According to the data from Santiment shared by Martinez, Cardano addresses holding between 100,000 and 1 million ADA accumulated a large number of tokens within 24 hours about three days ago, which indicates that whales are taking advantage of a price dip.

Number of New Daily Addresses On Cardano Spikes 167%, Denoting Notable Growth in On-Chain Activity

As a report has it, there has been notable growth in Cardano’s on-chain activity lately. And this surge can be attributed to the spike in the number of addresses on the blockchain.

According to the data from IntoTheBlock shared by Ali Martinez, a prominent crypto analyst, the number of new daily addresses created on the Cardano blockchain has surged by relatively 167% to surpass 112,500 addresses.

According to the analyst, sustained growth in this metric usually precedes a notable increase in price volatility for the digital token ADA.

Cardano (ADA) Total Transaction Count Crosses 31 Million Mark

According to the data provided by Google Data Studio, Cardano blockchain has crossed the 31 million mark in terms of the number of transactions.

Based on the data, as of 16th February, the total number of transactions on the Cardano network stood at 31.4 million. It also shows that there was an addition of 1 million transactions since 8th February 2022.

Several factors could contribute to an increase in the price of ADA in the medium term, as the digital asset is yet to reflect the favorable fundamentals of its network development.

A comeback of buyers, in an optimistic scenario, might see Cardano’s price hold its ground around the $1 support level and settle before another large rise. At the time of press, ADA is trading at $1.04, with a 2.6% price downtrend in the last 24 hours.

Cardano Reaches 3 Million ADA Wallets Milestone

Cardano, the largest proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain, has recently reached the 3 million ADA wallets milestone, serving as proof that the leading blockchain isn’t a ghost chain as critics insinuated.

The new development was shared a couple of hours ago via the official Twitter handle of the Cardano Community.

Back in May 2021, Cardano blockchain surpassed the one million wallets. The fact that the leading PoS blockchain could manage to add two million wallets in less than a year shows that the ecosystem has been growing steadily.

According to Kraken exchange in a recent report, over 11,000 wallets are created on the blockchain on a daily basis.

Within a year, the network experienced relatively 1,348% growth. And there are over one million delegated wallets on the Cardano blockchain, representing an 870% yearly increase.

Cardano to Increase Its Network Block Size By 11%

IOG, the development firm behind Cardano blockchain, has also announced that it’s on the cusp of increasing the network’s block size by 11%, in the quest to boost its scalability.

The optimization is targeted at increasing the block size from the current size of 72KB to 80KB. The increase will make Cardano blockchain gain more capacity to facilitate the increasing transactions as the network prepares for more projects to launch in the coming days and months.

IOG noted:

“This adjustment forms part of a planned series of network optimizations. Cardano will continue to be steadily optimized in a series of measured steps this year, carefully & methodically scaling Cardano for future growth as demand increases.”

In January, the blockchain load started surging significantly. The notable surge was attributed to the launch of the decentralized exchange (DEX) SundaeSwap. This shows that the network needs a boost in scalability to manage the load increase.

According to the data provided by Cardano Blockchain Insights, as of 1st February, nearly all blocks were full, with the average load remaining above 85%.

CryptoCompare: Number of Addresses Holding Cardano (ADA) Hit All-Time High of 4 Million in December

The number of addresses holding Cardano (ADA), the 6th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, experienced massive growth to hit an all-time high of 4 million in December 2021.

The data was revealed by CryptoCompare in the latest Asset Report. According to the report, the 4 million includes a drop in the number of traders holding the digital currency. The number dropped from 981,000 to 692,000, which was a 29.4% decline. However, long-term holders grew by 5.78%.

The report states further that monthly transactions on the Cardano blockchain plunged 35.1% to 3 million in December, after hitting a new all-time high in the same month.

Also, the number of addresses on the Cardano network was down 36.1% from the previous month, with an average of 138,000 daily active addresses.

The slowdown in Network Activity Was Not Limited to Cardano (ADA)

According to the Asset Report published by CryptoCompare, the slowdown in network activity was not limited to Cardano (ADA), as rival blockchains, such as Ethereum and Solana experienced similar drops.

Going by the report, the percentage of staked Cardano’s supply has also been declining over the last three months. The report says it’s now sitting at 70%.

The CryptoCompare emphasized the continued decrease in the average transaction fees on the Cardano network, which is a positive signal for the community. The transaction fees on the Cardano blockchain, which were averaging $0.38 in November, dropped to $0.33 on average in December. Whereas, the average fee was $0.69 in September 2021.

The Number of Smart Contracts on Cardano Blockchain about to Hit 1000 Mark

According to the data provided by Cardano Blockchain Insights, the number of smart contracts on Plutus, Cardano’s smart contracts platform, reached a milestone of 999 on 26th January 2022, putting it only 1 smart contract away from hitting the 1000 mark.
