Robinhood’s Foray into Crypto

Robinhood is an American financial services company headquartered in Menlo Park, Califonia. It facilitates commission-free trades of stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and cryptocurrencies via a mobile app launched in March 2015.

The company’s revenue comes from three main sources, including interest earned on customers’ cash balances, selling order information to high-frequency traders, and margin lending.

Users can now spend the underlisted cryptocurrencies; ADA, AVAX, BNB, BTC, BUSD, DOT, ETH, LAZIO, PORTO, SANTOS, SHIB, SXP, USDT, and XRP using their Card. These selected cryptos can also be converted to EUR currency.

As of 8 August 2022, the Binance Visa card supports only 14 digital currencies while there is a likelihood of many other cryptocurrencies being added to the list.

How Users Can Leverage Binance Visa Card

The virtual version of the Binance Visa Card can be used for online payments and is supported by Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

Part of the announcement read;

“To spend the newly supported cryptocurrencies with Binance Card, please go to Card Dashboard > Payment Priority > Edit to add, remove or rank cryptocurrencies for spending according to your own preference.”

“There will be no changes to the current Payment Priority preferences of existing Binance Card users with the addition of XRP, SHIB, and AVAX to Binance Card.”

According to Binance, the Visa card allows for the real-time conversion of cryptocurrency to EUR currency, when users make transactions. It is worth noting that users can spend EUR directly from their Binance Funding Wallet.  

The financial entity, Swipe is the sole distributor of the Binance Visa Card. The debit card is available to Binance users living in the selected countries including Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, and many others.

Shiba Inu has recorded numerous listings and strategic adoptions as a payment method recently. The support of SHIB on the Binance Visa card would further increase the exposure of the dog-themed token. And Significant developments, such as the Shiba Eternity game, are also coming to complement the current growth of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

In a new strategic session, Cred stated that Ethereum has likely printed a tradable range provided it maintains the support at $2,000.

Cred noted:

“This might be our range for some time. Support on the weekly at around $2,000. Maybe at this point, resistance will become relevant here at $2,500. Then the top of the range at $3,000. So if this is some sort of interim bottom, we’re dealing with the range we have to trade is between $2,000 [and] $3,000, and $2,500 is the range midpoint…

“If stuff continues to bounce, if equities do well etc., the basic target for that would be from support to resistance.”

The last coin on Cred’s radar is another smart contract platform, Avalanche (AVAX). According to what he said, AVAX is also trading in a wide range. However, the strategist warned investors that the digital asset can potentially deviate from the range and briefly trade above resistance or below support.

“The range high coming in at $40, and the range low coming in at $24… Similar to Solana, decent chart, good areas to trade. Buy support, sell resistance and not do a whole lot else. I do expect a bit of deviation.

“If it goes above resistance, for example, I’d expect a slight push higher than the exact level itself. The same for support: if it goes to support, I’d expect it to push a little bit below.”

In a new video, the host of financial education YouTube channel, InvestAnswers, stated that Solana (SOL) could be on the brink of reclaiming the 3-digit price level, considering the strong bullish signal it currently flashes.

The analyst noted:

“There’s a lot of strong bullish divergence visible in the chart here. If you look at the RSI (relative strength index) at the bottom, you can see the bullish divergence from the price action and that compression wedge that we see…

Solana’s price action appears to be creating not only this bullish divergence from the RSI within the same timeframe, but it’s only a matter of time that many believe we could get back to $120… This is a very, very positive chart giving a lot of optimistic outlook for the price action of Solana.”

At the time of writing, Solana (SOL) is trading at $91.12, with a relatively 4% price uptrend in the last 24 hours.

Another Ethereum competitor on InvestAnswers’s radar is the smart contract platform, Avalanche, which he says is now at a point where bulls will possibly take control of the market.

“This one is seeing a similar type of a compression chart downwards action, but on the cusp of breaking out, and you can see that the price has been stuck in this descending triangle.

It has had a really impressive recovery since March 15th and in fact, it’s still within the broader descending triangle, but the suggestion is it might be a good breakout or could it be a bull trap.”

In the report published by Business Insider, Yusko describes Winter as the “time when the weak things get killed off and allow the strong to really thrive when the spring comes.”

The report says alongside Bitcoin, Yusko believes Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), Cosmos (ATOM), and Polkadot (DOT) will be among those strong blockchains that survive a crypto downturn.

According to Morgan Creek Digital partner, Solana (SOL), the seventh-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is a great protocol.

Mark Yusko noted:

“There’s probably still some potential volatility in the price ahead. But long term, I think it’s a great protocol.”

As stated by Morgan Creek Capital partner, crypto is currently in a bear market, which he expects to last for about 12 months. He said the crypto market will fully return to a bullish trend after Bitcoin halving.

“What you’re seeing is crypto is definitely in a bear cycle. It’s going to struggle for the next 12-ish months then we’ll go back to the next bull cycle triggered by the next halving event,” Yusko added.

Recall that the last Bitcoin halving event played out in May 2020. The next halving should happen in the first 6 months of 2024.

According to Yusko, Bitcoin is not correlated to stocks as insinuated by many people within and outside the crypto industry. He referenced the fact that Bitcoin is down 7.8% year-to-date compared to Nasdaq which is down 9.89% year-to-date.

Yusko also says that Bitcoin is not correlated to stocks though it might appear to be so on shorter time frames. For instance, Bitcoin is down 7.77% year-to-date compared to the tech-heavy Nasdaq which has fallen 9.89% year-to-date in the wake of the Federal Reserve’s intentions to hike rates:

“You can’t calculate correlation over the short-term. Just the math doesn’t work. And so yes, it is true that in times of stress, ‘all correlations go to one.’

Zoom out, the correlation of Bitcoin to equities is 0.15 for long periods of time. Some weeks, some months, it goes higher, but over the long term, it’s still 0.15 and to bonds, it’s 0.”
