ShibaSwap Becomes The First DEX To Launch On Shibarium

Since coming on board around August 2023, Shibarium has operated without a dedicated Decentralised Exchange (DEX), unlike most Layer-2 scaling solutions.

The new development would undoubtedly mark a new phase in the Shibarium’s functionalities and existence, making it a highly anticipated welcome development among the Shiba Inu community members. At the same time, the launch proves that the Shibarium network has not been static, having existed for almost nine months.

According to the tweet disclosing the ShibaSwap launch on the Shibarium, the DEX invention has created an avenue for users to create new liquidity pools (LPs) on Shibarium, making it possible for them to exchange their favorite tokens across Ethereum and Shibarium networks. Certik is one of the top security companies in the industry. They perform security audits on blockchains, classify vulnerabilities, and provide solutions. A high-security score is a stamp of approval in the crypto world.

Lucie gave a shout-out to the teams at CertiK and the Shibarium Discord. She commended them for actively addressing issues on the CertiK website and squashing bugs.

She attached a screenshot showing that Shibaswap had a 90.05% trust level. At the time of writing, the score had gone up to 90.17. This real-time security score is calculated based on a combination of on-chain and off-chain data.

The Shibaswap Audit

Shibaswap is ranked #79 based on its security level and is in the top 10% of the crypto industry. The breakdown of Shibaswap’s security score is:

The audit also found 34 issues. The team has resolved 33 of these and partially resolved the final one.

The Fundamental Health category is the lowest score on the list but still well above average. All other scores are ranked as excellent. The Code Security score is an impressive one. CertiK found only 8 major bugs and 1 minor bug in the code and resolved them quickly. All other bugs were minor and informational, and there were no critical bugs in Shibaswap’s code.

According to the data from Etherscan.io, the number of unique BONE token addresses is now standing at 50,106. Although it’s a new token, the investors’ interest in it has been exceptional lately.

Why the Increase in Demand for Bone ShibaSwap?

The demand for BONE, the Shiba Inu ecosystem governance token, started increasing when the potential launch of Shibarium (Layer 2 Solution) was hinted at by Unification XFUND.

In late June 2022, the blockchain firm confirmed via a blog post that the Shibarium Public Beta testnet is slated for deployment in the third quarter of this year.

In the upcoming project, the BONE token would be used as a native gas token on the Layer-2 solution, Shibarium. This implies that all SHIB holders would need BONE tokens to initiate transactions on Shibarium. Since it’s a governance token as aforementioned, it gives Shiba Inu community members the ability to vote on upcoming proposals.

For instance, the community recently voted in favor of halting the minting of BONE tokens at 230 million coins to reserve the remaining tokens for validators. Howbeit, instead of halting the minting of BONE, the team decided to adjust the current minting rate to 1 BONE per block to avoid over-minting of the token.

Additionally, the team at the Shiba Inu community is planning to release a new reward token codenamed TREAT, which will serve as ShibaSwap Rewards in place of BONE.

ShibaSwap, a decentralized ecosystem exchange powered by the Shiba Inu team, clocks one year today, June 6. To commemorate this day, Shytoshi Kusama, Shiba Inu’s lead developer has unveiled key projects set to be rolled out in the Shiba Inu ecosystem before the end of 2022.

Shiba Inu Ecosystem Stablecoin: SHI

According to Shytoshi Kusama, a team of developers in SHIB’s network is on track to introduce a stablecoin named SHI into the memecoin’s ecosystem before the end of 2022.

The purpose of creating SHI is to provide a token that can be used by the community to counter and balance payments while also providing a hedge against market volatility.

Importantly, the project will take cognizance of the factors behind some recently failed stablecoins like TerraUSD (UST) and Staked ETH (sthETH), to guard against a similar occurrence. Not to forget that the de-pegging of these stablecoins resulted in billions of dollars being wiped off the market.

Per the announcement, Shytoshi Kusama said;

“We’ve seen independent development from a group of developers in our decentralized network. They have submitted a version of Shi that seems to avoid the issues found in other moonshots while allowing Shi to be used to counter and balance payments that need to be done without market fluctuations.”

“This will be an experimental protocol, like everything decentralized that Shib does, and a more detailed and complex set of information will be released about this token as it is finalized. Bearing no insane issues, this should be released in 2022,” the lead developer of Shiba Inu added.

TREAT Reward Token

As found in Shiba Inu’s Woofpaper, another interesting development to be expected is called TREAT. The token is designed as a reward token for community members in the ecosystem.

It is said that the introduction of the Treat reward token will be a big step toward making the Shiba Inu project a fully decentralized one.

While TREAT is mainly designed to benefit current SHIB ecosystem holders, the project will serve other purposes like the derivation of rewards for the Metaverse and Shiba Collectible Card Game. More so, the TREAT token will help provide balance to the SHI stablecoin.

However, before the launch of the TREAT reward token, the Shiba Inu lead developer noted that its use case must be well-defined and outlined with properly designed tokenomics.
