In the precautionary statement, Evernode noted that it will only share links to the new website articles without sending direct messages to users. It also noted that it never offers support to users from its X handle.

The first step which involves capturing a snapshot of XRP holdings on the mainnet was completed on September 1 as previously noted in this report. It is left to see how the airdrop would play out. 

Notably, eligible accounts for the airdrop on the Hooks sidechain would be based solely on the individual’s XRP holdings on the mainnet. 

Also, users should ensure that they hold their XRP directly on-chain rather than via an exchange to claim the airdrop, as there might be a need to clone accounts on the Hooks sidechain to access these airdrops.

This can be done by visiting the Bithomp explorer, inputting their r-address, and utilizing the “Time Machine” feature. By setting the snapshot time to 8:00 a.m. UTC, holders can view the XRP balance captured during the snapshot.

Notably, XRP-friendly exchanges Bitrue and Uphold have expressed their support for the EVRS airdrop. By simply holding XRP at the time of the snapshot, users on these platforms became eligible for the Evernode airdrop.

What Comes Next?

Evernode previously provided information on the two-stage airdrop process. The first stage involved the snapshot of XRP holdings on the mainnet, taken on September 1 at 6:00 p.m. AEST (8:00 a.m. UTC). The second stage will be the airdrop itself, distributed to qualifying accounts on the Hooks sidechain based on their XRP holdings on the mainnet.

Now that the snapshot has been taken, XRP holders naturally anticipate the distribution of the airdrop to their accounts. Evernode, in a separate tweet, clarified that Evers would not exist until Xahau is available.

Once Xahau is established, Evernode can create Evers and further instructions on claiming the airdrop will be provided based on each user’s XRP balance at snapshot time. Evernode’s foundation is based on the Xahau Ledger, which operates as a sidechain to XRPL.

However, it’s essential to note that Xahau has not yet launched, with only a whitepaper released thus far. Consequently, there are no ongoing Xahau airdrops, giveaways, trust lines, or IOUs.

Evernode thereby advised XRP holders to exercise caution and avoid sharing their keys with anyone. Users are assured that cloning their XRP account and setting a trust line for the Evers airdrop does not require moving or burning any XRP from their XRPL account.

Progress Towards Launch

After announcing their plans for launch earlier this year, Evernode took a significant step forward with the relaunch of the Evernode beta on the Hooks V3 testnet in April.

Airdrop Details and Snapshot Date

According to the Evernode whitepaper, an airdrop of the protocol’s proposed native currency, Evers, is planned for XRP holders following the launch.

In a recent tweet, Evernode announced that the XRPL snapshot for the airdrop would occur on Friday, September 1st, at 6:00 p.m. AEST.

It was clarified that a snapshot before the Hooks sidechain goes live is necessary due to the burn2mint process associated with the Hooks sidechain launch.

How to Claim the Airdrop

Evernode intends to distribute 5,160,960 Evers to eligible XRP holders. The distribution will be carried out in two steps: first, a snapshot of XRP holdings on the mainnet will be captured on September 1st at 6:00 p.m. AEST.

Subsequently, eligible accounts on the Hooks sidechain will receive the airdrop based on their XRP holdings on the mainnet.

XRP owners must ensure that they hold their XRP directly on-chain rather than through an exchange in order to claim the airdrop. This is because there might be a need to clone their account on the Hooks sidechain to access the airdrops.

Evernode emphasizes that the airdrop is a gift to XRP holders, giving them the ability to decide on the quantity of Evers to be airdropped to individual holders and how the distribution will be executed.
