The team behind the dog-themed crypto project launched the SHIB burn portal on the 23rd of April 2022. From the day the burn portal was launched to when rewards distribution started, ShibArmy managed to burn a total of 29.5 billion SHIB. The figure rapidly spiked after the rewards distribution announcement. The figure now stands at 42.4 billion tokens at the time of press.

According to data provided by Etherscan, the SHIB burning address that destroyed 1.3 billion tokens received 119 billion RYOSHI worth relatively $6,500. The first transition, which was seemingly meant for testing, was initiated on April 24, 2022, and carried just 5 million SHIB worth $119. The second transaction was performed after the success of the test transaction.

After the two transactions, the balance of the anonymous whale turned to zero, indicating that the wallet is likely dedicated by the owner to burn SHIB tokens or the owner has decided to sacrifice all of his/her holdings for the growth and development of the Shiba Inu community.

The massive burn was delivered as promised during the party. A burn of 1 billion SHIB tokens was announced, representing the first-ever Shiba Burn Party for the Let It Burn YouTube channel.

Shibburn, the tracker of all SHIB tokens sent to inferno wallets, confirmed the record-breaking transaction.
