As stated by the lead Shiba Inu developer Shytoshi Kusama, 500 validators seek the opportunity to run nodes on the Shibarium project network. A Shiba Inu community influencer named SunshineSHIB made the disclosure in a recently shared snapshot while noting a confirmation. 

Notably, these validators would be responsible for validating and verifying transactions executed on the Shibarium network when the project is finally up and running. 

Accordingly, Kusama revealed that the majority of these applicants have received invitations to experiment with the launched Shibarium Beta testnet. In doing so, validator operators that have applied will check out the network before the mainnet launch of Shibarium. 

On the other hand, Kusama stated that some applicants have not been sent emails to use the beta testnet of the Shiba Inu layer-2 scaling solution because of incorrect tagging. 

He wrote in the community discord channel:

“…That’s why most validators got an email already and asked to use the testnet beta to make sure this is what they want to do. I missed a few people who might have been tagged incorrectly, but last I checked there was 500 interested validators.”

These many applications to join the upcoming Shibarium project as validators come shortly after LucieSHIB, a notable member of the Shiba Inu community encouraged interested people to apply to join the project team.

While there are only 100 slots available for validator node operators on the Shibarium network, staking at least 10,000 BONE tokens is a prerequisite for admission. New validators can only join the network when an active validator drops out.

The team had earlier announced that validator selection would be based on their experience, knowledge, and trust levels. As reported, NOWNodes is among those seeking to offer validator services on the Shibarium network.

What CryptoCom CEO Says about the Massive Transaction?

In a tweet this morning, Chris Marszalek, the CEO of CryptoCom, explained the reason behind the massive outflow of Shiba Inu (SHIB) to unknown addresses.

According to Marszalek, standard custody operations are being conducted on CryptoCom to ensure the safety and security of the funds, which is attributed to the reason for the movement of SHIB tokens in trillions.

The CEO also stated that the activity is not expected to affect the exchange’s clients, adding that an update on Crypto.Com assets will soon be released. He concluded that there is no reason to spread FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt).

Following the whopping transfers, the address, which received 24.9 trillion SHIB, became the fourth largest holder of Shiba Inu tokens, according to Etherscan. Ahead of the address are only two hot wallets of another major exchange, Binance. The first place, however, is after the dead address dedicated to SHIB burning. It now holds 410.34 trillion Shiba Inu tokens.

At the time of writing, $0.00001071, with a relatively 3% price downtrend based on 24-hour estimation.

Data procured from the leading crypto tracking platform, Whale Alert show that a total of 5,671,107,065,473 Shiba Inu tokens were moved by loaded SHIB investors in two separate wallet-to-wallet transfers. 

Notably, the voluminous token shifting recorded within the past 24 hours, was executed in two transactions only and worth $52,358,251 at the time of execution. 

In the first transaction, about 2.87 trillion SHIB tokens were transferred from a whale wallet to a new storage location. The user paid only $0.56 in ETH as fees, for the transaction which was worth about $26.4 million, at the time of execution. 

Etherscan reveal that the sending wallet unloaded all 2.87 SHIB, and on the same day, the tokens dropped in the wallet. The sending wallet currently holds zero SHIB.

Hours later, the crypto whales tracking account broadcasted another massive SHIB transfer. This time, 2.8 trillion SHIB worth approximately $26 million, was transferred from an unknown wallet to another wallet. $1.63 in ETH was the accompanying fee for this transaction.

SHIB Holders On the Rise

Despite the low price at which the second-largest meme token is currently trading, the top Ethereum (ETH) whales and many more investors are still holding SHIB. According to Etherscan, a total of 1,257,318 on-chain wallets are in possession of Shiba Inu. 

On Thursday, WhaleStats showed that the top 1000 ETH whales hold more investment in Shiba Inu than in any other crypto asset including LINK, MANA, UNI, MATIC, and FTM among others. 

The whale tracking platform revealed that the top 1000 ETH whales hold SHIB tokens worth $34,116,607, as of December 8. Likewise, Whalestats noted that SHIB held by the top 100 ETH whales is worth $72,014,568, as of December 9.

Earlier this year, Shytoshi Kusama, a lead developer in the Shiba Inu ecosystem highlighted the unique projects to be rolled out for the Shiba community. Among these projects included Shiba Card Collectible Game, which was later given the official name, Shiba Eternity. 

While Shytoshi Kusama didn’t specify the game launch date, William Volk said during the Gamescom event that Shiba Eternity could be fully ready for the wider crypto audience in September, after satisfactory testings.

“It will come out probably in September for other regions, and we’ll have a download day where we intend to get the ShibArmy to all download it,” he said.

To develop Shiba Eternity, Team Shiba Inu partnered with PlaySide Studios, a reputable video game company. Also, the team added other professionals to their game team to build a sustainable product. 

William David Volk, a veteran video game designer and developer was hired to lead the design and implementation of the Shiba Eternity game, which is being developed in collaboration with PlaySide Studios.

Shiba Eternity Enters Testing Phase

It is worth noting that Shiba Eternity has entered the testing stage, indicating the progress of the team behind the project.

SHIB Burn Rate Spikes Over 342% 

The Shiba Inu community is back to the business of burning large volumes of SHIB tokens daily. The overall aim of this activity is to reduce the circulating supply of the second-largest decentralized meme token, which would aid the price of the digital asset to grow tremendously. And considering recent price spikes in the market, the SHIB burn initiative is starting to pay off.

Notably, Shib’s burn rate has increased by over 342% compared to the number that was burned on the 17th of August. According to Shibburn.com, more than 64 million SHIB tokens have been destroyed within the last 24 hours.

Shibburn also disclosed that 4,306,870 SHIB tokens were taken out of circulation in 4 transactions in the past 4 hours.

In one transaction, a total of 1,861,986 SHIB tokens were burned. 2,000,000 SHIB tokens were later transferred to a dead wallet in two transactions of an equal amount. In the 4th transaction, 444,884 SHIB were destroyed.

Shiba Inu’s Market Capitalization

After weeks of the massive selloff in the cryptocurrency market that resulted in the price decline of many assets, the crypto market seems to be experiencing a mild recovery. 

Particularly, Shiba Inu (SHIB) fell significantly in price and has been trading at the bottom of the chart for several weeks. Accordingly, its market capitalization declined below $5 billion in mid-June, according to data from Coingecko. 

However, investors seem to be taking interest in Shiba Inu (SHIB) as its accumulation rate has been on the rise. This has resulted in an increased market cap of the dog-themed token. 

Interestingly, Shiba Inu (SHIB) reclaimed $7 billion in market capitalization on Monday before it retraced. To note, the last time the market cap of Shiba Inu crossed this amount ($7 billion) was in early May before the crypto winter surfaced. 

It is worth noting that Market Capitalization, otherwise called Market Cap, is calculated by multiplying the current price of a certain digital asset by its circulating supply.
