She added that digital cash, through stablecoins and tokenized deposits, needs to move onto rails. The third piece, regulatory clarity, has already arrived; in her words, the industry has “been blessed” to receive it.

Rector tied this to the scale of DTCC’s operation. The DTCC settles $4.7 quadrillion per year. That figure represents the total value moving through the organization’s settlement systems, and Shikar’s comments point to that infrastructure now shifting toward tokenization.

Shikar was explicit that the shift is live, not theoretical. She said tokenization launching July 14 is not an experiment. She called the trades “real trades” involving “real shares, real cash moving.” She said the DTCC is done running proof-of-concept programs and is moving into real-world assets settling on live rails.

XRP’s Regulatory Position

Rector pointed to a detail inside DTCC’s rollout plan. The DTCC plans to use Canton this month for its initial tokenization push, with an extension to Stellar planned for 2027. He noted DTCC’s patent also names the XRP ledger.

He connected that to XRP’s legal status. Rector said, “We know that XRP is not a security,” pointing to Ripple’s court case against the SEC as the basis. He noted that this clarity is distinct from the CLARITY Act still moving through Congress.

He then linked XRP’s status to DTCC’s own regulatory position. The DTCC received a no-action letter from the SEC, granting a three-year exemption to build out and tokenize markets. Rector described this as the SEC giving “the full green light.”

Filling the Opportunity Gap

Zach Rector set expectations clearly. He said the DTCC won’t move $4.7 quadrillion onto the XRP ledger or Canton on day one. He called the current moment “that opportunity gap that we’re gonna fill,” describing a trajectory “from zero to $4.7 quadrillion and beyond” as tokenization infrastructure gets built out.

His point ties both pieces together. Institutional infrastructure is converging, and XRP holds a distinct regulatory status among digital assets that Rector argues positions it to capture a share of settlement volume as real-world assets move on-chain.

The patent describes XRP as suited for high throughput institutional cross-border settlement, while Stellar is positioned for low-cost transactions, fiat ramps, and stablecoin integration.

Within that architecture, liquidity tokens function as interoperability bridges between disconnected ledgers, with the patent illustrating transactions between Ripple Labs and the Stellar Development Foundation networks. XRP and XLM occupy separate, defined roles within the same settlement framework.

The Community Is Paying Attention

Responses to Aljarrah’s post reflected a range of views. BagMan (@XRPBags), a prominent figure in the XRP army, highlighted the importance of utility, as this sets XRP apart from other assets. He also kept focus on fundamentals, asking: “What signal are you watching closest here?”

Another commenter added important context, noting that Canton Network connects first for the July and October dates, with Stellar’s integration not ready until 2027. The National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC), a subsidiary of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), officially activated Hidden Road Partners CIV US LLC as a self-clearing member of its Market Participant Identifiers (MPID) Directory.

The DTCC revealed this in an operational notice on June 18. June 26, 2026, was the firm’s First Trade Date. Hidden Road is now Ripple Prime. Ripple acquired the global prime brokerage platform for $1.25 billion and rebranded it.

The NSCC listing still carries the legacy name, but the alpha identifier tells the real story: RIPL, numeric code 2152.

Ripple Prime Is Now Working Inside DTCC Infrastructure

This is not a partnership or a pilot program. Ripple Prime now holds direct membership in the NSCC clearing system. It serves as both the clearing broker and the executing broker for its OTC trades, meaning it does not rely on a third party to process settlements.

Crypto enthusiast Kenny Nguyen posted the DTCC notice on X, celebrating the launch. The road to today’s milestone began exactly one year ago, as the same DTCC notice shows that Hidden Road’s First Trade Date for OTC Comparison, Obligation Warehouse, and ACATS services was June 26, 2025. Today’s NSCC MPID listing represents the next stage of that operational buildout.

What Does This Mean for XRP?

Ripple has stated its intention to migrate post-trade activity to the XRP Ledger (XRPL). With Ripple Prime now operating as a self-clearing member inside the DTCC’s infrastructure, that pathway becomes a live operational reality rather than a forward-looking plan.

As a self-clearing prime broker within the NSCC, Ripple Prime processes OTC securities trades through the DTCC’s centralized system. Ripple has indicated it plans to use XRPL to handle settlement on the back end. If executed, this would route institutional trade volume through the XRP Ledger at scale.

This development also connects to Ripple’s participation in the DTCC’s tokenization initiative, a project exploring how blockchain technology can modernize post-trade processes in traditional securities markets. Ripple’s presence in the DTCC infrastructure strengthens its position within that project.

A Year in the Making

The notice confirmed Hidden Road’s entry into OTC Comparison, Obligation Warehouse, and ACATS services in June 2025. Today, the firm has advanced to full self-clearing status. Ripple has now built a regulated, operational presence inside the same infrastructure that processes trillions of dollars in U.S. securities trades each year.

This is not another pilot. The event will involve participants using live traditional DTC securities. Those participants will tokenize their holdings and move assets across at least two different blockchains in a series of live test cases designed to showcase interoperability.

A full-scale rollout remains on track for October 2026.

Community Reacts to the Confirmation

A community member asked Steingraber whether DTCC’s tokenization timeline depends on the CLARITY Act passing. The SEC’s No-action Letter

The document is a no-action letter from the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets. It’s addressed to Brian Steele, Managing Director and President of Clearing & Securities Services at DTCC, and Nadine Chakar, Managing Director and Global Head of DTCC Digital Assets.

The letter responds to a request DTC submitted that same day. DTC asked the SEC staff not to recommend enforcement action against it under certain provisions of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, specifically so it could launch the pilot version of its tokenization program.

The request addresses multiple regulatory areas, covering system reliability standards, rule-filing procedures, and clearing agency requirements.

Why This Matters for the DTCC’s Timeline

The letter is from December 2025, about seven months before DTCC’s planned July 2026 launch window. With June already underway, that clearance isn’t some distant promise. It’s already in hand, and the launch is weeks away. DTCC requested permission, and the SEC granted it via this no-action position.

The DTCC doesn’t need the CLARITY Act to proceed. It already has a regulatory green light from the SEC itself, in writing, tied directly to the tokenization platform it’s building.

What This Means for XRP Holders

For XRP holders watching the CLARITY Act’s progress through Congress, Steingraber’s post draws a clear line between two separate processes. Legislative action on crypto market structure is one track. DTCC’s tokenization rollout is another, and it’s running on SEC-issued authorization that predates the current legislative debate.

Ripple Prime’s seat in DTCC’s Industry Working Group means Ripple has visibility into this rollout regardless of how or when CLARITY Act discussions conclude. ]]> The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) is making big moves in the tokenization space, and Ripple has a seat at the table.

Crypto pundit Kenny Nguyen highlighted a significant development in a recent post. The DTCC plans initial production trades for its DTC tokenization service in July 2026, with a full-service launch following in October 2026.

The DTCC custodies over $114 trillion in assets and settles the majority of U.S. securities transactions. This creates a massive market for XRP, and Ripple is participating through Ripple Prime, its institutional prime brokerage arm, formerly known as Hidden Road.

Ripple Prime sits among 50+ heavyweights inside DTCC’s Industry Working Group, alongside heavyweights like BlackRock, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and Citi.

The DTCC’s New Initiative

July 2026 marks a soft launch. The DTCC will conduct limited production trades of tokenized real-world assets in a controlled environment using real data and real workflows. The initial asset pool includes Russell 1000 equities, ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries.

October 2026 brings the full service launch. At that point, DTC participants gain the option to select tokenized record-keeping as a standard operational feature. The service tokenizes DTC-custodied assets while preserving traditional entitlements and ownership rights. It aims to bridge TradFi and DeFi for better liquidity, efficiency, and interoperability across chains.

Ripple Prime’s Path to the Working Group

Ripple acquired Hidden Road in April 2025 for $1.25 billion. Ripple rebranded it as Ripple Prime and gained direct access to institutional infrastructure through the acquisition. By March 2026, Ripple Prime appeared live on the NSCC directory, a DTCC subsidiary overseeing U.S. clearing operations. In May 2026, it officially joined the DTCC tokenization working group.

Potential Impact on XRP

The DTCC also selected the Stellar network as the first public blockchain in its multi-chain strategy. XLM surged over 80% in the days following that announcement. Trading volume jumped over 900%. That price action happened before Stellar’s integration even went live.

Many in the community believe that XRP could experience the same once the full launch happens in October. However, the work begins next month.

XRP’s Position Heading Into July

Ripple Prime is now an active participant in the infrastructure development standards for tokenized securities settlement. The July soft launch is weeks away, and many believe XRP has not yet priced in this development because of its recent decline.

The XRP community is watching closely. The broader crypto market has not fully registered what is happening. A $114 trillion system is beginning to tokenize its assets, and Ripple Prime has a confirmed seat in that process from day one.

Although XRPL has not been designated as the blockchain underpinning the current DTCC tokenization rollout, supporters view those links as evidence that future multi-chain expansion remains possible.

SMQKE’s observations come as major financial firms continue to pursue tokenization strategies rather than relying on a single blockchain. Industry participants increasingly view interoperability as a key requirement, with multiple networks expected to coexist within future financial systems.

Ripple Prime’s Role

Ripple Prime, the award-winning prime brokerage firm, joined the launch with significant infrastructure behind it.
