Grok just revealed how XRP could reach $40. A $4.71 million net inflow moved XRP’s market cap by $12 billion.
That number caught the attention of analyst Chad Steingraber, who pointed to the data on August 18, 2026, noting that XRP had flipped green on Net Inflows. The price stood at $1.1243 at the time.
Steingraber then posed a direct question to his followers: What happens on a net inflow of $1 billion?
How Far Can $1 Billion Inflow Move XRP?
Grok responded with the math. It scaled the ratio of the $12 billion market capitalization against the $4.71 million inflow to a hypothetical $1 billion inflow scenario. The result would put XRP in the $40 range.
Grok explained, “Small net flows already swing price hard because market cap is just price times supply, not cash sitting in the asset.” At the current circulating supply, a $1 billion net inflow would be a multi-trillion-dollar market cap move, putting XRP at roughly $40 per token.
Based on the $12B market cap jump alongside the shown ~$4.71M net inflow, scaling that ratio to a $1B net inflow points to a multi-trillion market cap move. At current circulating supply that puts XRP in the $40 range. Small net flows already swing price hard because market cap…

Why Inflows Move Prices So Hard
Market cap equals price multiplied by circulating supply. When new capital enters, it does not need to match the total market cap. A relatively small inflow shifts the marginal price, and that shift multiplies across the entire supply.
XRP’s circulating supply amplifies every dollar of net inflow into a proportionally larger market cap gain. The $12 billion gain on $4.71 million in inflow is evidence of that dynamic in live market conditions.
Are More Inflows Coming?
XRP surged following the White House crypto summit on August 19, 2026. President Trump, SEC Chair Paul Atkins, and CFTC Chair Michael Selig met with crypto executives including Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse. The group pushed for passage of the CLARITY Act, which would establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets.
Regulatory clarity tends to attract institutional capital. As the CLARITY Act heads toward a Senate procedural vote on September 15, the pathway for compliant, large-scale investment into XRP grows clearer. The SEC has also proposed a new framework that could remove barriers that previously kept institutional issuers and investors on the sidelines.

If inflows of $4.71 million moved the market cap by $12 billion, increased institutional participation as clarity arrives could push XRP even further. The only variable is how much capital enters.
