Crypto investor Zach Humphries believes investors may be overlooking the XRP Ledger’s growing role in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization as financial institutions explore blockchain-based securities and settlement systems.
In his recent video, Humphries examined developments in institutional adoption, comments from industry leaders and changing capital flows to explain why he considers tokenization an important part of the XRP Ledger’s long-term potential.
Zach Humphries Highlights XRP’s Role in Tokenization
In his latest video, Humphries challenged the tendency to associate XRP primarily with banking and cross-border payments. Humphries believes tokenization could become a major part of the XRP Ledger’s long-term utility as financial institutions explore ways to issue, transfer and settle assets on distributed ledgers.
To explain why he sees this development as significant, he pointed to comments from BlackRock CEO Larry Fink about the future of financial markets.
Fink described securities tokenization as the next generation of markets, explaining that distributed ledger technology could identify beneficial owners and sellers while enabling instantaneous settlement.
Humphries suggested that these developments could align with Ripple’s business direction and the capabilities of the XRP Ledger. However, he acknowledged that Fink did not specifically identify XRP or its underlying technology in the remarks.
He also cited comments from Ripple Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz, who discussed the expansion of tokenization. Schwartz expressed optimism about a future in which blockchain applications could reach large numbers of users.

XRP Ledger Records Significant RWA Inflows
The Data Humphries presented from RWA.xyz showed that the XRP Ledger recorded approximately $1.9 billion in net real-world asset inflows over the preceding six months, placing it second among the tracked networks.
BNB Chain led with $2.2 billion, followed by the XRP Ledger at $1.9 billion. Solana recorded $1.6 billion, while Stellar attracted $1.5 billion. Ethereum, despite remaining a major network for tokenized assets, registered approximately $2.7 billion in net outflows over the same period.
These figures measure changes in net capital flows rather than the total value of assets hosted on each blockchain. Consequently, Ethereum’s negative flows do not establish that its overall tokenized asset market has become smaller than the XRP Ledger’s.
Humphries also highlighted the XRP Ledger’s reported growth in distributed RWA value during 2026. According to the figures presented in his video, that value increased from $518 million at the beginning of the year to approximately $2.25 billion by the end of the first quarter.
Institutional Adoption Remains Central to the Outlook
Humphries further discussed the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s planned tokenization service, which a speaker in the video identified as targeting an October 28 launch. He viewed the development as another indication that established financial infrastructure providers are preparing to support tokenized securities.
However, the DTCC’s tokenization initiative does not, by itself, confirm that the service will use XRP or the XRP Ledger.
Humphries concluded that investors should pay closer attention to RWA data and Ripple’s position in the sector rather than concentrating exclusively on payment use cases and price predictions.
Although the reported inflows offer evidence of growing activity on the XRP Ledger, their long-term significance for XRP’s market value will depend on continued adoption, actual network usage and demand for the asset.
