Vitalik Buterin: I Was “Dead Wrong” When I Thought Ethereum 2.0 Will Launch Within 1-2 years

Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum (ETH), has recently stated that he never knew he could eventually be wrong when he confidently thought Ethereum 2.0 would launch within 1 to 2 years.

Buterin made this known during an AMA session on Twitter, where he allowed the limited people he’s following on Twitter, including Billionaire Elon Musk, to ask anything crypto or non-crypto related.

Vitalik Buterin tweeted, “Doing a random twitter experiment just on this day. Only the 268 people I follow can reply to this tweet. Feel free to ask things and I’ll talk about anything crypto or non-crypto related.”

The AMA session attracted tons of questions from influential persons within and without the crypto ecosystem.

A notable question regarding something he had a lot of confidence in but later turned out he was wrong came from Taylor Monahan, founder & CEO of MyCrypto.com.

Monahan asked, “What’s something you had an insane amount of confidence in, only to have it turn out you were dead wrong?”

In response, Vitalik Buterin, “Ethereum will move to proof of stake within 1-2 years”

Emin Gün Sirer, founder and CEO of Ava Labs, also asked of the hardest lesson he learned through the journey of Ethereum development:
