The accompanying image breaks down the XRP holdings required to reach several percentile levels. According to the data shared, 811,264 accounts, representing 10% of the listed account base, hold at least 2,120.00022 XRP. The threshold rises considerably for higher rankings.

At the 5% level, the data shows that 405,632 accounts hold at least 7,438.635871 XRP. Reaching the top 4% requires at least 10,019.670921 XRP, while the top 3% requires more than 14,000 XRP.

The figures become significantly higher among the largest XRP holders. The top 2% threshold stands at 21,715.975311 XRP, while an account needs at least 44,509.025262 XRP to reach the top 1%.

Higher Percentiles Require Larger XRP Balances

Sunny Girl’s chart also provides figures for the upper end of the XRP distribution. The top 0.5% consists of 40,564 accounts, with a minimum balance of 80,009.999991 XRP. The top 0.2% requires at least 157,994.9542 XRP, while the top 0.1% threshold reaches 276,693.87438 XRP.

At the highest percentile shown, the top 0.01% includes only 812 accounts, with each holding at least 3,633,850.782898 XRP.

The figures illustrate how sharply XRP balances increase as the ranking moves toward the smallest percentage of accounts. While the 10% threshold sits at just above 2,000 XRP, entering the top 1% requires more than 44,500 XRP, according to the chart.

20 XRP Places Holders in the Top 50%

Stevenson shared the Bull Runners video with the caption, “THE XRP RICH LIST EXPOSED!” and asked viewers to examine the data behind the largest XRP holders, including who is accumulating and who is holding.

According to the video, owning 20 XRP was enough to place an account in the top 50% of XRP holders as of August 20, 2026. It stated that an account holding 21 XRP had more XRP than more than 4 million wallets.

The video attributed the large number of small accounts partly to changes in the XRP Ledger’s reserve requirements. It stated that validators approved a reduction in the base reserve from 10 XRP to 1 XRP in December 2024. The owner reserve for ledger objects also fell from 2 XRP to 0.2 XRP.

Bull Runners argued that the lower reserve requirement made it significantly cheaper to open and maintain an XRP Ledger account. As a result, the number of funded accounts increased without necessarily indicating a comparable increase in committed XRP investors.

The video said the XRP Ledger had 8,071,889 funded accounts as of August 20, compared with approximately 7.7 million in March. It therefore estimated that roughly 400,000 funded accounts had been added in five months.

The XRP Ownership Thresholds Rise Quickly

The video placed the top 10% threshold at approximately 2,138 XRP, while the top 5% required between 7,745 and 8,000 XRP. It then identified 44,823 XRP as the threshold for the top 1% on August 20.

For the top 0.1%, the video cited approximately 295,194 XRP and estimated that only about 7,554 wallets reached that level.

Bull Runners then made an important distinction regarding the very largest XRP wallets. The video claimed that fewer than 800 wallets represented the top 0.01%, but argued that these addresses should not automatically be interpreted as wealthy individuals. According to the presentation, many of these wallets belong to exchanges, institutional custodians, or Ripple.

Large Wallets Do Not Always Reveal Investor Intent

The video cautioned that blockchain data shows transactions but does not necessarily reveal why funds moved. An exchange wallet receiving XRP could indicate deposits from customers preparing to sell, while a custodian moving assets could simply be reorganizing client funds.

It also pointed to escrow transactions as another example of large movements that do not necessarily represent an individual’s decision to buy or sell XRP.

Bull Runners therefore identified the approximately 7,500 wallets in the top 0.1% as a more relevant group when assessing large private holders.

The video also connected XRP ownership data with developments on the XRP Ledger, including growth in RLUSD activity and the introduction of new ledger features. It concluded by encouraging viewers to check their own XRP holdings against the publicly available distribution data.

The top 5% requires 7,503 XRP, representing 402,108 accounts. Reaching the top 1% takes 44,896 XRP across 80,422 accounts. Joining the top 0.1% requires 275,420 XRP, held by just 8,037 accounts. At the very top, the top 0.01% holds at least 3,836,116 XRP. Only 804 accounts meet that threshold.

XRP Army Reacts

The post drew responses from holders across multiple tiers. One commenter expressed confidence about his position in the top 5%. Another community member placed herself in the top 2%, and a third confirmed membership in the top 0.1%.

One commenter noted he holds around 2,200 XRP, putting him comfortably in the top 10%. Doug Cass raised a valid point about the 8 million account figure. He argued that many individuals hold multiple wallets, suggesting the real number of unique holders could be considerably lower.

What the Account Growth Signals

The 8 million funded account figure is the standout detail. Comparing this to rich list data from mid-July, the top 10% threshold moved from 2,155 XRP to 2,151 XRP. The top 5% shifted from 7,507 XRP to 7,503 XRP. The top 1% moved from 45,000 XRP to 44,896 XRP. Thresholds continue to drift slightly lower as more accounts enter the network and distribute the supply further.

More funded accounts mean more participants across all tiers. The network is broader now than it was a month ago, and the data shows that expansion directly.

A table posted by crypto enthusiast Amanda highlights the number of XRP accounts across different balance ranges and asks holders a simple question: “Where do you rank?”

The data shows a significant difference between the number of accounts holding smaller amounts of XRP and the relatively small number of accounts controlling much larger balances.

Small XRP Holdings Account for the Majority of Accounts

According to the table Amanda shared, the largest group consists of accounts holding between zero and 20 XRP. The category contains 1,296,232 accounts, with a combined balance of approximately 16.51 million XRP.

The next-largest group includes accounts holding between 20 and 500 XRP. There are 2,384,287 accounts in this range, collectively holding approximately 176.51 million XRP.

The number of accounts decreases considerably as the balance ranges increase. 433,531 accounts are holding between 1,000 and 5,000 XRP, while 129,998 accounts hold between 5,000 and 10,000 XRP. The table records 58,977 accounts with balances between 25,000 and 50,000 XRP.

At the higher end, only 131 accounts fall within the 20 million to 100 million XRP range, while 57 accounts hold between 100 million and 500 million XRP.

Four Accounts Hold More Than 1 Billion XRP

The most concentrated category in the table contains just four accounts with balances of 1 billion XRP or more. Together, those accounts hold approximately 6.42 billion XRP.

Another 23 accounts hold between 500 million and 1 billion XRP, collectively accounting for approximately 12.85 billion XRP. The 57 accounts in the 100 million to 500 million range hold another 12.18 billion XRP.

The figures show how sharply the number of accounts falls as XRP balances increase. While millions of accounts hold relatively small amounts, a much smaller number of accounts control substantial XRP balances.

XRP Holders React to the Distribution

The comments attached to Amanda’s post reflected different reactions to the figures. One user responded with “57,” apparently referring to the number of accounts in the 100 million to 500 million XRP category.

Another commenter suggested that the current distribution could eventually become a positive development for some holders, writing that the accounts could represent a “losers list” that may turn upward.

Other responses focused on individual rankings. One user asked whether others could see the number “4,” referring to the four accounts holding at least 1 billion XRP. Another commenter responded with “53843,” apparently identifying their position within the distribution.

The table therefore gives XRP holders a way to compare their balances with other accounts while also illustrating the substantial concentration among the largest holders. In his view, experienced market participants are likely paying closer attention to whale concentration than the increasing number of wallet addresses.

What the Numbers Cost Today

At the current price of $1.10 per XRP, these thresholds translate into concrete dollar figures. Reaching the top 10% costs approximately $2,371. The top 5% requires roughly $8,258. The top 1% sits at around $49,500.

Those figures put the upper tiers in perspective. For many retail investors, the top 10% represents an attainable goal. Joining the top 1% is a more serious commitment, but still achievable for many market participants.

The Full Picture

The complete table BagMan shared fills out the distribution across every major tier. The top 2% threshold sits at 21,939.74 XRP, which costs approximately $24,134 at current prices. The top 3% requires 14,076.12 XRP, or around $15,484. The top 4% sits at 10,030 XRP, roughly $11,033.

Moving further up, the top 0.5% requires 80,203.15 XRP, which costs approximately $88,223. The top 0.2% threshold is at 159,385.33 XRP, or around $175,324. The top 0.1% requires 277,098.12 XRP, putting the cost near $304,808.

At the very top, the top 0.01% holds at least 3,714,074.61 XRP across just 800 accounts. At $1.10, that represents over $4 million per wallet at the minimum threshold.

A Concentrated Distribution

The account numbers reveal how concentrated XRP ownership remains. Only 79,985 accounts qualify for the top 1%. The top 0.1% covers 7,999 accounts. The top 0.01% holds fewer than 1,000.

The distribution data suggest a network in which a small number of accounts hold a significant portion of the supply, and the gap between tiers grows sharply toward the top. The answer is 2,200 XRP. At the current price of $1.16, that works out to roughly $2,552. That is the threshold to place an investor in the top 10% of XRP holders globally.

How Concentrated is XRP Among Whales?

Nassif’s post states that accounts holding 1 million XRP or more account for “about 93% of the total supply.” That figure requires clarification, as the data he shared tells a different story. Wallets holding over 1 million XRP account for closer to 74% of the total supply, which is itself a significant concentration.

The 93%-94% figure appears in a video Nassif published, in which he references a broader metric. He describes it as the share of XRP’s circulating supply held across fewer than 2,000 wallets in total, across all balance ranges. That is a different measure from the 74% figure, and the two numbers describe different things.

What the Distribution Data Shows

The wallet distribution data Nassif shared is from the XRP rich list. It breaks down XRP holdings across balance ranges. Only 5 accounts hold 1 billion XRP or more. Just 85 wallets hold between 100 million and 1 billion XRP. Combined, the top tiers of holders control an outsized portion of the total supply.

Nassif notes in his video that “millionaire wallets are hitting brand new all-time highs with over 1.5 billion units of XRP being absorbed by token holders in just the last couple of months.” For those eyeing the top 1%, the entry point rises sharply. Joining their ranks requires 46,000 XRP, which equates to approximately $53,360 at today’s price.

Exchange Reserves and Accumulation Trends

Nassif’s video also highlights the movement of XRP off exchanges. He reports that over 720 million XRP were left on digital asset exchanges in just two weeks. Exchange reserves are at multi-year lows, showing deliberate accumulation by major players.

He also covers Ripple’s regulatory positioning. Ripple received conditional approval from the OCC in December 2025 to establish Ripple’s National Trust Bank. The OCC then expanded the powers of national trust banks in April 2026 to include digital asset activities. Nassif suggests this could reduce XRP’s effective circulating supply if Ripple opts to lock up remaining escrow holdings as part of its banking operations.
