According to an update shared earlier today, the independent LUNC development team TerraCVita has finally brought project Terraport Finance to life. This strategic DeFi platform built by TerraCVita comes as the development group strives to revitalize the LUNC project. 

“It’s finally arrived the day Terra Classic has been waiting for. Terraport launch day. Join us now and make crypto history and help start LUNC recovery,” the announcement read, highlighting the reasons members should support the new project. 

The team noted that the success of Terraport will be quite beneficial to LUNC in many ways. As per the update, Terraport’s success will help create new LUNC trading pairs and make it easy to enter the Terra Classic ecosystem. It would also encourage developers to build and launch new decentralized applications (Dapps) on the Terra Classic blockchain.  

Very importantly, the Terraport team reiterated that the project will help burn a good percentage of LUNC’s total supply and TERRA, its native token. Recall that the team stated in its whitepaper that Terraport would burn billions of LUNC weekly and subsequently revealed how the massive feat would be achieved.

Rex Harrison, a senior member of TerraCVita affirmed this, labeling the DeFi project a LUNC furnace. Harrison further outlined the major roles Terraport will play in the Terra Classic ecosystem.

It bears noting that the development of the decentralized crypto exchange built on the Terra Classic layer-2 network began in 2022 courtesy of TerraCVita. Its launch is quite strategic as it comes at a time the community needs more utility for the once-broken chain. 

Terraport Functionalities

Terraport allows users to swap among three tokens — LUNC, TerraClassicUSD (USTC), and TERRA. Equally, users can yield-farm by supplying supported assets to the available liquidity pools.

More so, the platform incorporates a TERRA staking functionality where users can stake Terraport’s native token to end interests ranging from 16% to 60%, based on the chosen staking duration.

Notably, Terraport is a Terra Classic layer 2 decentralized finance (DeFi) project, powered by the independent LUNC development team, TerraCVita. In a Thursday Twitter thread, Rex Harrison (also known as Rexyz) disclosed to the Terra Classic community Terraport’s ultimate goal for LUNC and why the Terra Classic community needs Terraport. 

Rexyz noted that the major reason behind the development of the LUNC L2 DeFi project is to enhance the interest Terra Classic gets from crypto investors. Particularly, he cited that Terraport aims to provide a sustainable decentralized exchange (DEX) with different trading pairs for LUNC. 

With this, he said, more crypto investors would buy and hodl the LUNC asset, thereby increasing the token’s market cap and value over time. But he emphasized that the success of Terraport would largely depend on how much liquidity would be available on the DEX.   

He wrote:

“Why [do] we need Terraport? The primary purpose of Terraport is to create a sustainable DEX to create trading pairs to make it easy for investors holding other tokens to swap with LUNC thereby attracting investment into LUNC. For a DEX to work it requires liquidity.”

In other words, he said Terraport would help make LUNC more accessible and in turn, cause its trading volume to increase substantially. In an earlier report by Times Tabloid, LUNC’s price recorded a notable spike as its 24-hour trading volume rose to $130 million on Monday.

Additionally, Harrison reiterated that Terraport would greatly support the ongoing LUNC burn expedition, which aspires to reduce the total supply of Terra Classic to 10 billion units. 

This latest disclosure from Rexyz comes about a week after the TerraCVita team revealed that Terraport Finance would burn LUNC from every transaction made on the trading platform. This served as an explanation of how the team intends to burn billions of LUNC weekly as noted in the Terraport whitepaper.

As revealed by TerraCVita, which successfully raised $3 million to build Terraport, the DeFi project would be launched before Q2 of 2023.

TerraCVita, the current most active independent LUNC development team has raised additional funds from investors to support the Terra Classic decentralized finance (DeFi) project called Terraport, which comes along with a DEX. 

The team, which began a discounted presale of the Terra Classic DEX native token (TERRA) on Wednesday has raised an additional 2 million dollars from the recent Terraport presale scheduled for LUNC Italia and TerraCVita delegators only.

The LUNC development group also noted that two public sale events will be observed in the next 5 weeks. “We look forward to 2 public sales over the coming 5 weeks. Thank you everyone for your kind support and trust in us,” TerraCVita added.

Reacting to this exciting outcome, RexYellerBelly, a top member of TCV wrote, “over $2 million investment in a bear market after our crash, shows LUNC and Terra Classic are definitely open for business and there is confidence in us. Funding the LUNC and  TERRA furnace is underway.”

This development comes about a week after TerraCVita announced the receipt of $1 million in funding for the decentralized finance (DeFi) project – Terraport – which includes the Terra Classic DEX. The team noted that profits from the DEX will either go to the community pool or the LUNC burn wallet.

As earlier reported, TerraCVita noted that the Terra Classic DEX described as a ‘LUNC furnace’ would be launched in Q1 of 2023. The team disclosed on Monday that the Terraport whitepaper would be released shortly.
