Interest in XRP seems to be on the rise as Ripple guns for victory in the ongoing court battle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

A report by Santiment also showed that XRP is among the top five crypto tokens with a high rate of social activity and discussion.

David Gokhshtein Says He Have Accumulated More XRP

Among those accumulating XRP and hoping for a price rally is David Gokhshtein, a former US Congressional candidate who is also a member of the Republican Party and the founder of the popular crypto news outlet, Gokhshtein Media.

As previously reported by Timestabloid, David Gokhshtein earlier disclosed his intention to fill his portfolio of different digital currencies with more XRP tokens. “I’m personally itching to maybe get a few more bags of XRP,” he said. 

But in a recent turn of events, the renowned crypto proponent and XRP holder laments not buying more of Ripple’s digital token following the recent surge in the price of XRP.

According to the Thursday tweet by the Gokhshtein media founder, his investment in some undisclosed meme tokens has not yielded significant returns.

XRP in the Market

XRP, which is currently the 6th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has grown in price value by over 53% in the past 7 days. Also, in the last 24 hours, XRP has rallied over 18% and is the most trending token after Bitcoin (BTC) on Coinmarketcap. 

According to Santiment, a market intelligence platform, “The price ratio of $XRP/ $BTC has hit a one-year high of 0.000025 on the continued optimism of a potential settlement of Ripple with the SEC. Active shark and whale addresses holding 1m to 10m $XRP have been in an accumulation pattern since late 2020.”

This recent growth of XRP in the market can be attributed to the positive developments surrounding the XRP lawsuit filed against Ripple Labs Inc., by the SEC.

The securities watchdog contends that XRP is a security but has not been able to prove this beyond a reasonable doubt. Meanwhile, comments from some former SEC officers portray XRP to be similar to Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH), which are not regarded as securities by the SEC. 

It is worth noting that both parties filed a motion for  Summary Judgment to be issued by Judge Analisa Torres. However, the SEC is intending to request “additional time” in the proceedings of the litigation in response to the position taken by the Chamber of Digital Chambers. Ripple and other Ripple defendants have objected to this SEC’s suggestion calling it “delay tactics.” On the whole, the crypto community hopes that the case ends in favor of Ripple.

David Gokhshtein Sees at Shiba Inu At $0.001

According to Gokhshtein in a tweet, SHIB may never reach $1. Since the cryptocurrency currently trades at $0.00002586, it needs a 3.6 million percent surge in order to trade at the $1 level.

He, however, expects the canine-themed token to at least reach $0.001.

David Gokhshtein tweeted, “I don’t believe $SHIB will hit $1, but I can see it touching $0.001. My personal opinion. I’ll take it.”

While SHIB $0.001 is not too shabby, SHIBArmy blasted the popular crypto Twitter influencer for this target, arguing that developers behind the meme cryptocurrency have not yet unveiled more token-burning mechanisms.

After tons of backlashes from SHIBArmy, Gokhshtein later clarified his assertion in relation to the SHIB price trend.

“I stated $SHIB could hit $0.001 and I personally would be fine with it. If you think it’s going to hit $0.01, I’m fine with that also lol. In no way was I disrespecting the protocol.”

Prior to that, he had noted that the addition of SHIB to commission-free brokerage platform Robinhood is a “great thing” for the crypto industry.

According to the Gokhshtein Media founder, SHIB could help drive more investors to the two largest cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

Shiba Inu (SHIB) Now Most Used Smart Contract by Biggest Ethereum Wallets

According to WhaleStats, whales were actively buying the token, which caused increased usage of the Shiba Inu smart contract and made it the most used smart contract among the 2,000 largest Ethereum wallets.

In addition to high usage, market and on-chain metrics for Shiba Inu are also on the increase, with the average balance on whale addresses rising to 2.36 billion SHIB tokens and volume increasing by 436%, reaching $53 million.

The more important increase is the net flow of Shiba Inu on whale addresses, which has risen by almost 500%, suggesting that there are more inflows of SHIB tokens into whale wallets than outflows, indicating the short and mid-term bullishness of large investors.

Both volume and balances on whale addresses are also important metrics that show generally positive sentiment among large buyers.

In the same thread, Gokhshtein stated that “thank god I stood on principle,” indicating that he had probably invested heavily in the dog-themed crypto, Shiba Inu (SHIB), before its rise into prominence in terms of price.

Impact of Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin on Shiba Inu’s Price

This time last year, Shiba Inu (SHIB) had started gathering momentum for popularity but was still sparsely known in the crypto community and its price was still standing around $0.0000000434 until Ethereum Vitalik Buterin’s unforgettable action.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin started a relationship with Shiba Inu after the SHIB team gifted him 50% of the cryptocurrency’s total supply, in which he decided to burn 90% of the SHIB holdings.

Buterin shocked the whole crypto ecosystem after deciding to burn $6.7 billion worth of SHIB. The trove of more than 410 trillion tokens was sent to a dead blockchain address in just a day.

Back then, Buterin said:

“I’ve decided to burn 90% of the remaining shiba tokens in my wallet. The remaining 10% will be sent to a (not yet decided) charity with similar values to cryptorelief (preventing large-scale loss of life) but with a more long-term orientation.”

Buterin also said he would prefer cryptocurrency creators give them to charities and not to him, stating that he does not want to be a locus of power of that kind.

The massive burn was unexpected, but the Shiba Inu community saw it as a positive gesture since the whopping burn implies that $6.7 billion worth of SHIB tokens has been permanently taken out of circulation.

As expected, the impact of Buterin’s notable action started to fully surface in October 2021 following a meteoric rise in the price of SHIB. According to CoinGecko, the digital currency hit its price all-time high of 0.00008612 on 28th October 2021.

Since Buterin’s unexpected action, several burn mechanisms have been adopted and millions of SHIB tokens are being burned on a weekly basis. The community resolutely believes that burning Shiba Inu tokens will aid its price in the long run.
