Shytoshi Kusama, the Shiba Inu lead developer, was recently called out on X for SHIB’s underperformance in terms of price. It’s worthy of note that SHIB has not met expectations despite the active burn initiative.
Solobase Mac (@blacktalizman) replied to a previous post from Kusama. This thread was reflective and inspirational, addressing profound questions about conflict, faith, and the consequences of our actions. Kusama called for peace in the crypto community and the rest of the world. However, Solobase Mac’s biggest concern was SHIB’s performance in terms of price.

Although he commended Kusama’s writing, Solobase Mac said Kusama’s writing was the only great part, unlike SHIB which has remained with no notable uptrend.
Kusama replied, jokingly teasing that it would move more if Solobase Mac held his talisman harder. This reply was a playful remark about Solobase Mac’s username, “blacktalizman.”
Shiba Inu lead developer also pointed out that those who bark the loudest aren’t the ones who do the work, stating that it would take “true work” for SHIB’s price to move.
Notably, Solobase Mac’s sentiment was shared by many in the community. One user asked Kusama when history would repeat. Some were more pessimistic, with another user stating that Kusama only cared about himself and not the Shiba Inu community.
In another reply, Solobase Mac pointed out that the community needs hope. He stated that SHIB wasn’t supposed to be a money maker, but many in the community were on their last dime. He added that he was watching and hoping for some light.
At the time of press, SHIB is trading at $0.000007196, with a slight change in price in the last 24 hours. This underperformance reflects the broader crypto market, which has been experiencing losses for a while.

Kusama recently hinted at a significant development. This development could be what he meant when he mentioned “true work.” The statement implies that the team is working in the background, and the recent hint adds credence to the belief that the SHIB developers are preparing something big for the SHIB army.
Token burns have also been a big part of the strategy. SHIB experienced a minor surge with the spike of token burns in October. There is a possibility that the anticipated development has to do with token burning.
Last month, Lucie (@LucieSHIB), a SHIB team member, also called for users to move their assets to Shibarium to increase token burning as daily transactions on Shibarium continue to drop.
