Singapore has become a focal point for XRP adoption. On that note, Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss shared big news with the XRP Army.
In a recent tweet, he wrote, “Big news for the Ripple Army in Asia.” He announced that Gemini users in Singapore can now deposit and withdraw XRP directly on the XRP Ledger network.

Native XRPL Access Changes the Picture
Until now, Singapore users could trade and hold XRP on Gemini. The new feature gives them something more significant: native blockchain-level movement of the asset. Users can now move XRP in and out of the platform through the XRPL itself, without relying on third-party rails or wrapped versions of the token.
That is a meaningful upgrade. It connects the exchange directly to the infrastructure XRP was built on. The XRPL processes transactions in seconds at low cost, and Singapore users now have full access to those capabilities through a regulated platform.
Gemini’s Commitment to XRP
This announcement does not exist in isolation. Gemini has spent the past year building its XRP ecosystem. In 2025, Gemini launched the XRP Edition of the Gemini Credit Card in partnership with Ripple. The rewards made XRP the highest-performing reward currency among all Gemini Credit Card options at the time.
Gemini also enabled RLUSD deposits and withdrawals over XRPL in December 2025. RLUSD is Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin. In July 2026, Gemini added XRP as a cross-collateral asset for derivatives trading, placing it alongside BTC, ETH, USDT, and GUSD.
Expanding XRP’s Reach
Gemini’s geographic strategy makes today’s news carry extra weight. The exchange exited the UK, EU, and Australia in 2026 and consolidated its international operations around the US and Singapore. Singapore is not a secondary market for Gemini. It is one of two global pillars.

Gemini Digital Payments Singapore also holds in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore for a Major Payment Institution license. That regulatory foundation gives the XRP expansion credibility and staying power.
XRP’s Position in Asia
XRP has long held strong recognition across Asian markets. Adding native XRPL functionality on a regulated exchange in Singapore strengthens its position as a real-world payment and transfer asset in the region. This announcement excites many XRP community members.
