Dark Defender: XRP Is Not Waiting for Clarity Act. The Wave Pattern Will Emerge

Crypto analyst Dark Defender (@DefendDark) has a clear position on XRP and the CLARITY Act. He believes the asset does not need legislation to move. His post stated: “XRP is not waiting for the Clarity Act. The wave pattern will emerge: with or without it.”

The statement is notable because of his broader technical outlook on XRP. Dark Defender has previously identified XRP’s Grand Wave III as active on a long-term chart dating back to 2013.

He has also noted that XRP is currently replicating an Exponential Moving Average Jumping Pattern seen in 2014 and 2017, both of which preceded major rallies. His analysis places XRP at the base of a significant move regardless of legislative outcomes.

The Community Takes Sides

The post drew a range of reactions from the XRP community. Several responses support Dark Defender’s position. One commenter said price had always moved before law caught up, referencing past predictions that suggested the price would move before regulation.

Another noted that XRP’s growth is not dependent on the United States and pointed to BRICS nations as a significant source of demand. One commenter referenced XRP’s previous bull run, noting that in November 2024 the asset gained 280%. He pointed out that XRP just needs a 150% surge for a new all-time high, and said holders should get ready for the next move.

Not everyone agreed. One commenter pushed back, arguing that XRP has consistently followed the CLARITY Act narrative and that the market and price action have reflected that. He said the asset still needs positive news.

The Wave Prediction and the CLARITY Act

Dark Defender’s technical case rests on pattern repetition. The EMA Jumping Pattern first appeared in 2024 before XRP’s 500% rally. He sees the same structure forming again now. On the longer-term chart, Fibonacci extension targets project levels of $18.22, $36.77, $74.39, and $333.11, with $333 being his stated exit target.

The CLARITY Act itself faces a difficult legislative path. The Senate procedural vote is scheduled for September 15. The House leaves Washington by September 17 and does not return until mid-November. Senator Cynthia Lummis has warned that missing this window could push crypto legislation to 2030.

Dark Defender posited that none of this changes the technical picture. XRP’s structure is already in motion, and he expects the asset to move regardless of the CLARITY Act’s outcome.
