Brad Garlinghouse States Reason Why He Thinks Ripple Will Win XRP Lawsuit against the SEC

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, has recently showcased his optimism in the ongoing lawsuit against the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) during a discussion with Axios Fintech reporter at Collision 2022.

In the course of the conversation with the reporter, he discussed a few topics related to crypto and most importantly, the biggest crypto-related court action at the moment, the Ripple-SEC lawsuit.

Law Is On the Side Of Ripple

According to Garlinghouse, he remains optimistic that Ripple will win the XRP lawsuit against the SEC because the law is on their side. He also said there are other facts that are supporting Ripple’s claims on XRP’s security status.

Brad Garlinghouse noted:

“I am betting that just to be clear. I am betting on that not just because of the tone of the questions from the Judge. I am betting on that because I know the facts are on our side. I am betting on that because the law is on our side…

“The SEC has massively overstepped and they are trying to take jurisdiction ownership over something. I think they saw this gray area and decided to go in.”

What Would Happen If Ripple Loses?

In the course of the interview, the reporter asked Ripple CEO about what would happen if Ripple loses the case to the SEC. In response, he said the blockchain payment firm has been operating since December 2020 as if it has lost the case. So, a loss may not change anything.

Garlinghouse said, “If Ripple loses the case, does anything change? It is status quo, Ripple is still growing quickly.”

It can be recalled that after the SEC filed the case against Ripple, a number of exchanges and crypto-related firms decided to delist XRP on their platforms to be in the regulator’s good book.

To affirm that Ripple has already prepared for the worse, Garlinghouse stated that the commission only has control in the U.S.

Since the lawsuit began, Ripple has been working on expanding to more regions across the world. So, a win for Ripple in the XRP lawsuit against the SEC will serve as a huge boost for both the firm and investors.
