Pundit to XRP Holders: Listen Closely to What the IMF Is Discussing

XRP could benefit from growing demand for liquidity between tokenized assets, digital currencies, and institutional financial markets, according to crypto commentator X Finance Bull.

His recent analysis links the International Monetary Fund’s research on reserve management and tokenization with the XRP Ledger’s asset-exchange capabilities, noting that XRP could serve as an intermediary asset as financial institutions expand their use of digital infrastructure.

X Finance Bull examined an IMF discussion involving Calixto José Ortega Sánchez, Venezuela’s Vice President for the Economy and former central bank president.

He focused on international reserves, foreign-currency access, gold holdings, and central-bank swap arrangements, noting that these subjects raise an important question: how can institutions convert the value of their assets into usable liquidity when they need it?

He also connected the discussion to the IMF’s research on tokenization and the growing use of programmable financial infrastructure.

Tokenized Gold Could Create New Liquidity Opportunities

Venezuela’s reported attempt to use disputed gold held at the Bank of England as collateral for financing provided another example for X Finance Bull, as it illustrates how valuable assets can secure loans without requiring an outright sale. X Finance Bull believes tokenization could eventually simplify these arrangements by making assets easier to manage and use as collateral

Under such a model, a regulated issuer could create a digital representation of rights linked to gold held by an approved custodian. Financial institutions could then use eligible claims in collateral arrangements and digital markets.

X Finance Bull cited Assetiko Commodities’ XAUa, a gold-linked asset issued on the XRP Ledger and Stellar, as an existing example of digital gold exposure. He also referenced Meld Gold’s work involving digitally represented precious metals.

The commentator noted that the tokenized-gold market approached $6 billion in February 2026. Further integration with lending, collateral management, and institutional trading could increase demand for infrastructure that connects tokenized assets with other financial instruments.

XRP Auto-Bridging Sits at the Center of the Thesis

X Finance Bull identified the XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchange and auto-bridging functionality as important components of his argument. Auto-bridging can route exchanges between issued assets through XRP when the available XRP-based route offers a more favorable exchange.

For example, an institution seeking to exchange RLUSD for a tokenized gold asset could potentially trade through XRP if market conditions make that route more efficient. This process could create demand for XRP as intermediary liquidity without requiring the gold itself to back XRP.

He also noted that firms providing liquidity across several XRP trading pairs may need to maintain XRP inventories to facilitate customer transactions.

Institutional Adoption and Future Demand

X Finance Bull linked his thesis to developments in institutional custody, tokenization, and collateral management. The examples included Ripple’s partnerships with financial institutions, Standard Chartered’s custody services for RLUSD issued on the XRP Ledger, and efforts to expand digital-asset infrastructure.

The analysis also referenced the Bank for International Settlements’ Project Agorá, which explores how tokenized commercial-bank deposits and central-bank reserves could improve cross-border payments.

He views such initiatives as evidence that financial institutions are exploring more connected digital settlement systems, although Project Agorá does not establish XRP adoption.

His 2027–2030 outlook anticipates greater integration between tokenized gold, digital dollars, securities, and institutional financing. He believes XRP could benefit if market makers increasingly use it to connect these markets.

However, he acknowledged that tokenizing $1 billion in gold would not automatically generate $1 billion in XRP purchases. Instead, he focused on the amount of XRP that trading firms might need to maintain to support recurring transactions.

X Finance Bull’s thesis ultimately depends on measurable adoption. Growing XRP liquidity against gold tokens and stablecoins, larger XRP inventories held by professional market makers, and confirmed institutional use of XRP for exchange or collateral would provide stronger evidence that tokenization is translating into sustained demand for the asset.
