XRP Rich List Keeps Shrinking. Here’s What Is New

Following EasyA co-founder Dom Kwok’s claim that “blockchain will eat all of finance,” crypto enthusiast RIZ pointed to a separate trend among XRP holders, noting that the XRP rich list continues to shrink. RIZ supported the observation with data showing the XRP balances required to rank among different account percentiles.

XRP Holdings Vary Sharply Across Account Tiers

The figures RIZ shared reveal how concentrated the top of the distribution is. Just 823 accounts, representing 0.01% of the accounts included, hold at least 3,739,984.429892 XRP each.

The threshold falls sharply from there. At the 0.1% level, 8,228 accounts hold at least 274,325.000008 XRP. The 0.2% mark covers 16,456 accounts with balances starting at 155,888.885185 XRP.

Further down the table, 41,139 accounts at the 0.5% level hold at least 79,426.146872 XRP. The 1% threshold sits at 43,747.95898 XRP across 82,277 accounts. At 2%, 164,554 accounts hold at least 21,425.932929 XRP.

The 5% mark requires just 7,294.784043 XRP, while 10% drops to 2,081.777828 XRP.

RIZ’s Claim Needs Context

RIZ tied the figures to Kwok’s blockchain adoption argument, suggesting the shrinking rich list reflects expansion across the network. The table RIZ displayed shows current thresholds for each percentile but carries no historical comparison.

The table alone does not establish whether these thresholds have changed over time or whether they have increased or decreased. RIZ’s “shrinking” remark is his interpretation, not a conclusion the data independently supports.

A Commenter Raises Price Concerns

Not everyone in the thread shared RIZ’s optimism. One user, PvtPoopy, pushed back on the mood surrounding XRP altogether.

The commenter questioned why XRP still traded around $1.37 despite what they called repeated approvals and positive ecosystem news. They also aimed at XRP content creators who monetize through paid communities, arguing holders have not seen the returns they were led to expect.

RIZ focused on how XRP holdings are distributed. PvtPoopy focused on what those holders have actually made.

What the Data Shows

The figures confirm significant concentration at the top of the XRP account distribution. Entry into the top 0.01% requires close to 3.74 million XRP, while reaching the top 10% takes just over 2,000.

RIZ linked the XRP distribution data to the discussion about blockchain’s growing role in finance. However, determining whether XRP ownership is changing or the rich list is shrinking requires comparing data over time rather than relying on a single snapshot.
