XRP recorded nearly $800 million in spot trading volume over 24 hours; its price fell more than 3%, prompting crypto commentator X Finance Bull to question traders’ expectations.
The combination of heavy trading activity and a declining price has put market positioning under focus as traders assess whether buyers are using the dip to accumulate XRP.
X Finance Bull shared the figures sourced from Coinglass in a recent post. The data showed XRP trading at $1.4114, down 3.57% at the time of the snapshot. XRP also had a market capitalization of $88.80 billion, while its 24-hour futures volume reached $4.10 billion and open interest stood at $3.31 billion.
“XRP did nearly $800M in spot volume over the last 24 hours,” X Finance Bull wrote. He then pointed to the activity across several major exchanges and asked, “What are traders positioning for?”
Binance Leads XRP Spot Volume
Binance recorded the highest XRP spot volume among the exchanges shown in the data, with $203.77 million over 24 hours. Upbit followed with $156.75 million, while Coinbase recorded $110.13 million.
Other exchanges also recorded significant XRP activity during the period. OKX posted $56.81 million, while Kraken recorded $53.32 million. Gate reached $38.71 million, and Bybit recorded $36.98 million.
The figures show that traders continued to transact XRP heavily even as the price moved lower. However, the volume does not reveal whether buyers or sellers accounted for most of the activity. Traders must therefore examine price action and other market indicators before concluding that the volume reflects accumulation.
Commenter Says Traders Could Be Accumulating
One commenter, Tracey, offered a bullish interpretation of the activity. She said, “Just accumulating on the dip. I bought some too.”
Her comment suggests that at least some market participants view XRP’s decline as a buying opportunity. Other traders could take the opposite approach and use the increased activity to sell or reduce their positions.
X Finance Bull did not explain the high volume. Instead, he presented the figures and asked what traders could be positioning for as XRP traded lower.
The data therefore shows strong participation in XRP’s spot market, but it does not confirm a specific market direction. If buyers continue to absorb XRP during periods of weakness, traders may view that activity as a sign of accumulation. If selling pressure continues to dominate, the elevated volume could instead accompany further price weakness.
For now, X Finance Bull’s question centers on the gap between XRP’s heavy spot activity and its declining price, leaving traders to determine whether the current volume reflects accumulation, selling, or repositioning.
