CLARITY Act News for XRP Holders: Coinbase States What Every Senator Must Know

The CLARITY Act cloture vote will happen tomorrow, September 15. Coinbase used its official account to address what it believes is at stake. The post reminded followers that the vote touches the lives of millions of Americans who use crypto to invest, save, and reduce costs.

Coinbase kept the message simple. “This isn’t a vote about politics. It’s about the millions of Americans and business owners who use crypto to invest, save, and cut down on costs.” The post closed with a direct statement to the Senate: “Every Senator needs to know it.”

A Call to Action

Coinbase followed up with a reply pointing followers to the Stand With Crypto Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to uniting global crypto advocates. The reply asked the community to contact their senators and push for a yes vote on the CLARITY Act.

Coinbase’s social media push follows CEO Brian Armstrong’s appearance on CNBC days earlier, where he said he believes the bill is ready for a yes vote. Coinbase wants its community to apply public pressure before Tuesday’s procedural vote, which requires 60 senators to advance the bill to full floor debate.

Republicans hold 53 seats, so at least 7 Democrats must cross the aisle for the bill to proceed. 7 to 10 Democrats have already shown support for the bill, and the pressure from the community could help push past that threshold.

The Community Responds

The crypto community engaged quickly after the post went up. Several users weighed in with their own takes on what the vote means for the industry. One commenter argued that voting against the bill is a vote against the best interests of all Americans. He pointed out that all politicians should make the best choice for constituents regardless of party.

Another user noted that whether the bill passes or not, a plan B exists. The SEC and CFTC have expressed willingness to move forward with regulation regardless of the outcome.

What Comes Next?

Tuesday’s vote is procedural, not final. If cloture passes, the bill moves to open debate and potential amendment before any final passage vote. If it fails, the bill is effectively dead for 2026, and Senator Cynthia Lummis, one of the key figures behind the bill, has said a new attempt would likely not happen until 2030.

Coinbase’s message shows the stakes the industry sees in the outcome. The company wants its community engaged before the window closes.
