Researcher SMQKE Says the Speed of XRP’s Growth Will Shock Everyone. Here’s why

Crypto researcher SMQKE (@SMQKEDQG) recently posted about XRP’s payment speed, noting a Ripple representative speaking on record about a live pilot program. The details SMQKE highlighted are worth understanding carefully.

The pilot ran between the U.S. and Mexico. XRP settled transactions so quickly that the banks involved asked Ripple to slow things down. XRP completes transactions in 3 seconds. The banks could not process incoming payments fast enough to keep up.

The Ripple representative confirmed it directly, stating, “The banks involved asked Ripple to slow down the middle path because we were delivering the payments too quickly for the banks to digest.”

What the Pilot Demonstrated

The mechanics were straightforward. Dollars entered the system, converted to XRP, settled on the blockchain, then converted to Mexican pesos on the receiving end. Ripple ran the pilot with a company called Cuallix in the third quarter of that year. Every participant recorded positive results.

Ripple’s Standing With Regulators and Banks

Regulatory acceptance has developed alongside the technology. The Bank of England ran a proof of concept using Ripple. The representative described it as “one of the most conservative, highly regarded institutions worldwide.” That engagement signals serious institutional interest.

He also stated XRP “has been designed from the outset for transacting,” which has positioned Ripple well with established financial institutions globally.

Scale Is the Next Stage

SMQKE’s point centers on what comes next. Ripple is currently in its multi-corridor volume phase, bringing partner banks into multiple payment corridors simultaneously. The representative stated the banks Ripple works with “would allow around a 90% coverage of the world’s global networks.”

Once that network reaches sufficient density, additional banks can connect more efficiently. The infrastructure compounds as participation grows.

Improving Settlement Speed Across Every Corridor

The Mexico pilot showed one corridor running at full XRP speed. Ripple has corridors mapped globally. When institutions across those corridors operate at XRP settlement speeds, transaction volume and velocity will exceed what the current banking system runs at today.

Settlement windows will compress, and capital tied up in processing will free up faster. XRP has been marketed as an alternative to legacy systems like SWIFT for years. This pilot shows that financial institutions will gain access to processing speeds that the existing infrastructure has never delivered.

The Mexico pilot was not an anomaly. It was a preview. As SMQKE noted, when XRP activates across all corridors, “the volume and velocity of settlements will be unlike anything the banking system has ever operated at before.”
