XRP has posted one of the most aggressive short-term rallies in the current market cycle. The asset climbed over 50% in roughly 65 hours, adding $30 billion to its market cap. Crypto commentator Austin Hilton has weighed in on the move, offering analysis on what is driving it and where it may be headed.
XRP Outpaces Bitcoin and Ethereum
Hilton went through the 7-day performance figures across the top assets. Bitcoin gained 22% over that period, Ethereum added 30%, and XRP outran both. Based on percentage, he noted that more capital flowed into XRP than into Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Other assets posted strong gains too. Solana rose 25%, Dogecoin climbed 35%, and Zcash jumped 71%. XRP, however, ranked among the top performers across the entire market by percentage gain at the large-cap level.

Market Cap Reflects the Momentum
XRP’s market cap moved from $63 billion to $93 billion during the rally. That $30 billion increase arrived in under 72 hours as the price rose rapidly. Hilton described this as a clear sign of how fast capital is entering the asset. The speed of the move is what he keeps returning to.
Consolidation Has Begun
Hilton noted that XRP has started to consolidate after the initial surge. He sees this as a healthy development. He focuses on whether the asset can hold the $1.50 level. He said that maintaining that price over time is impressive and what the market needs to see. He is not predicting a reversal at this stage as there is not enough data yet to determine whether the rally continues.
Profit-Taking for Recent Buyers
Hilton offered specific guidance for anyone who bought during the rally. He used the example of buying at $1.05 and sitting on roughly 45% gains. He recommended selling 25% to 30% of the position.
Doing so would likely recover the base cost of the entire purchase, leaving the remaining 70% to 80% as pure profit. He then advised protecting that remainder with a stop-loss, suggesting $1.44 as a reference point.

The Key Risk to Watch
Hilton identified profit-taking as the main risk to the current rally. He’s concerned that heavy selling triggers a fear response among holders, creating a negative feedback loop. As long as liquidity stays in the market and profit-taking remains measured, he sees the consolidation as a stable setup rather than a warning sign.
XRP’s performance relative to the broader market has been notable. Whether it holds its gains depends on how the market absorbs the next phase of price action.
