XRP Pundit: I Spoke to Several People At Ripple, Here’s One Thing I Kept Hearing

Digital Asset Investor, a prominent XRP commentator, shared a post after speaking with several people at Ripple. The message from those at the company was clear: “Only blue skies ahead from a regulatory perspective for XRP. The fight is over. We won.”

That kind of confidence from Ripple’s people carries weight, and it arrives at a significant moment for the entire digital asset industry.

XRP Already Has its Answer

XRP entered this regulatory moment from a position of strength. A landmark lawsuit already determined that XRP is not a security. That ruling gave Ripple and XRP holders legal clarity that most of the crypto industry is still waiting for.

Congress tried to provide that clarity, but the CLARITY Act failed in the Senate. It failed a Senate cloture vote 49-50 on September 15. The bill needed 60 votes. It fell 11 short, blocked by Democratic opposition and four Republican defections. The failure left a gap, but the SEC and CFTC moved to fill it immediately.

Regulators Acted Fast

Two days after the vote, the SEC issued its Innovation Exemption. It gave tokenized securities venues a five-year conditional license to operate without registering as exchanges. The same day, the CFTC issued no-action relief for passive software providers, allowing developers to connect users to regulated derivatives markets without broker registration requirements.

The SEC also published updated FAQs on September 25 clarifying how federal securities law applies to crypto assets. Staff confirmed that staking receipt tokens for underlying digital commodities qualify as digital tools rather than securities.

More Regulatory Moves

On October 5, the CFTC launched a formal rulemaking process with an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. It is now building purpose-fit rules for retail leveraged crypto transactions and considering a new category of regulated exchange specifically for digital assets.

The SEC’s proposed Regulation Crypto Assets, published in August, creates exemptions from registration requirements for certain crypto fundraising with a $75M offering ceiling. The comment period closed October 20.

The Community Responds

Reactions in the comments mixed skepticism with strong conviction. One commenter questioned how much the wins actually move the price, stating that 1,000 more small switches need to be flipped for XRP to hit $3. Another acknowledged the fatigue of hearing similar optimism for years but made clear he is not selling.

One noted he thought the regulatory clarity was already settled and redirected focus to price performance. Another commenter expressed disappointment that the price has not reflected the progress she anticipated since 2017, as she expected XRP would have hit $10 by now.
