Upcoming Terra Classic (LUNC) Upgrade Will Make the Network Become Fully Interoperable: Details

The Terra Classic (LUNC) team is working tirelessly and making decisions that would speed up the recovery of the imploded network. And the teeming community members behind the project are supporting the team in every way possible.

A new version of Terra Classic, which promises to bring vast benefits to the network, is coming, according to a Friday update from a pseudonymous LUNC developer known on Twitter as Raider.

Based on his account, the upcoming TR v23 release, which contains the CosmWasm upgrade, will make Terra Classic become fully interoperable with other chains on the Cosmos blockchain.

Raider tweeted, “Only after the TR v23 release containing the CosmWasm upgrade will Terra Classic become fully interoperable with other Cosmos-based blockchains. Terra Rebels continues to build value for the Terra Classic Community, #LUNC, and #USTC!”

When Terra Classic v23 Will Be released?

In an update in late August, the details of the upcoming upgrade were leaked on Twitter. The tweet showed the screenshot containing the agenda of the upgrade.

The upgrade is authored by the core development team comprising Edward Kim and Tobias Andersen. It’s expected to launch in December 2022.

It’s worth noting that the Terra Classic blockchain was initially built on top of the Cosmos blockchain before the Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC), which allowed Cosmos chains to interact, was disabled during the collapse of the Terra blockchain to prevent further losses.

However, work is in progress by Terra Rebels to re-enable the IBC protocol. According to the LUNC core developer Edward Kim, this will open the door for new projects to build on the Terra Classic network.
