The global financial system is undergoing a rapid transformation. Digital assets, blockchain networks, and tokenized money are redefining how value moves across borders. Yet, many misunderstand the relationship between these technologies.

What seems like competition is, in reality, a layered collaboration. Within this new landscape, stablecoins and XRP play distinct but deeply interconnected roles, powering a seamless flow of value across regions and networks.

Stablecoins: Powering Regional Value

Stablecoins such as USDC, EURC, and PYUSD have grown into vital instruments of digital commerce. They deliver the stability of fiat currency with the efficiency of blockchain technology.

These tokens are fully collateralized by reserves such as cash and short-term U.S. Treasuries, ensuring a stable value and are redeemable at a 1:1 ratio. This foundation has earned them trust among institutions and regulators.

Stablecoins are the fuel. But $XRP is the engine

USDC, EURC, PYUSD are booming. But here’s what most miss:

They’re stuck in local lanes. XRP opens the highway.
Stablecoins are backed by banks.

They’re siloed.
They’re USD-bound.
They serve regions.

XRP bridges them all. No… pic.twitter.com/PiIxSkLVhY

— X Finance Bull (@Xfinancebull) November 4, 2025

However, stablecoins remain largely regional in scope. They are bound by the jurisdictional and banking frameworks of their issuers. USDC is tied to the U.S. dollar and American banking regulations, while EURC is linked to the euro and European standards. As a result, stablecoins operate smoothly within local economies but face challenges when transacting globally.

The Challenge of Fragmentation

Despite their efficiency, stablecoins still exist in fragmented ecosystems. Each operates on its own network with unique compliance requirements, liquidity pools, and supported regions. Transferring value between different stablecoin systems can be costly and slow due to multiple conversions and intermediaries.

Even with emerging multi-chain integrations, interoperability across borders remains a complex hurdle. This fragmentation underscores the need for a neutral bridge asset that can connect diverse financial environments.

XRP: The Bridge Asset

XRP was built to solve this exact problem. As a native digital asset on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), it operates independently of any central issuer or institution. This makes it borderless, neutral, and highly efficient.

We are on X, follow us to connect with us :- @TimesTabloid1

Through Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) solution, XRP facilitates instant cross-border transactions by converting fiat currency into XRP, transferring it within seconds, and settling in the destination currency. This process eliminates pre-funded accounts and reduces liquidity costs for financial institutions.

Unlike stablecoins, XRP is not confined to any region or regulatory boundary. Its open, decentralized design allows it to serve as a universal connector between fiat currencies, stablecoins, and digital assets worldwide.

Unification, Not Competition

As X Finance Bull emphasized in his recent post, stablecoins are the fuel, but XRP is the engine. This metaphor captures the essence of their relationship.

Stablecoins provide the liquidity and value stability needed for everyday transactions, while XRP delivers the speed, interoperability, and global reach that unify fragmented systems. Rather than competing, they complement each other—forming the foundation of a truly borderless financial infrastructure.

The Future of Global Value Movement

The next phase of financial evolution will depend on cooperation between stability and speed. Stablecoins will anchor value, ensuring predictability and regulatory compliance. XRP will continue to drive settlement efficiency and cross-border liquidity. Together, they enable a financial system that is faster, cheaper, and more inclusive.

The future of money is not about replacing one asset with another—it is about integration. While stablecoins may fuel digital economies, XRP powers global financial connectivity.

Stablecoins are no longer confined to payment rails; they are evolving into the financial backbone of next-generation lending. Visa’s latest research confirms this shift, illustrating how blockchain-based credit is transitioning from niche DeFi circles into mainstream institutional finance.

The global payments giant’s newly released white paper signals a major milestone in the recognition of stablecoins as critical instruments for the future of global credit infrastructure.

Visa’s Report Signals a New Era for On-Chain Lending

Visa’s in-depth report, Stablecoins Beyond Payments: The On-Chain Lending Opportunity, explores how tokenized dollars are reshaping traditional credit systems. The company notes that the on-chain lending market has already originated more than $670 billion in stablecoin loans over the past five years, with borrowing volumes reaching around $51.7 billion monthly as of mid-2025.

According to Visa, programmable stablecoins, those that integrate seamlessly with smart contracts, can unlock vast potential in lending, collateralization, and credit markets.

Visa is now highlighting Ripple’s RLUSD alongside USDC & USDT in its new report on stablecoins powering on-chain lending. It’s a sign that RLUSD built for institutions, multi-chain, and regulation-ready is stepping beyond payments into real credit market infrastructure.… pic.twitter.com/1Hngu5OD0A

— 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸XRP (@BankXRP) October 20, 2025

The report suggests that financial institutions are beginning to view these blockchain-based assets not merely as a means of transferring value, but as the building blocks of new credit architectures that operate continuously, without the constraints of legacy systems.

Why Ripple’s RLUSD Inclusion Is a Landmark Development

Among the stablecoins analyzed in Visa’s report are USDT, USDC, and Ripple’s RLUSD — a lineup that signals a profound recognition of Ripple’s growing institutional footprint. RLUSD, launched by Ripple in late 2024, was designed as a regulation-ready, multi-chain stablecoin aimed at meeting the liquidity and compliance demands of global financial institutions.

Its inclusion alongside market leaders USDT and USDC in Visa’s data set underscores that Ripple’s dollar-backed token is being treated as a legitimate participant in institutional credit markets.

This distinction suggests that RLUSD has progressed far beyond its payments-oriented origins, moving into use cases such as treasury management, institutional settlement, and on-chain lending infrastructure.

We are on X, follow us to connect with us :- @TimesTabloid1

As Visa frames it, the emergence of compliant, transparent stablecoins like RLUSD creates an environment in which financial institutions can safely integrate blockchain-based liquidity into their credit and risk management frameworks.

BankXRP Draws Attention to Visa’s Recognition

Crypto market commentator BankXRP was among the first to spotlight Visa’s mention of RLUSD on X. In their post, BankXRP highlighted how Visa’s decision to list RLUSD alongside industry heavyweights marks a pivotal step for Ripple, positioning the company to play a deeper role in credit market modernization.

The observation quickly gained traction among XRP supporters and industry analysts, many of whom interpreted Visa’s acknowledgment as a sign that Ripple’s stablecoin is crossing into mainstream financial consciousness — not just as a blockchain payment asset, but as a tool for real institutional liquidity.

A Glimpse Into the Future of Credit Infrastructure

Visa’s research envisions a world where tokenized dollars like RLUSD anchor a 24/7, automated lending ecosystem powered by programmable finance. With stablecoins serving as real-time collateral and settlement instruments, the traditional boundaries between payments, lending, and credit issuance could blur entirely.

For Ripple, this development is validation that its strategy — integrating compliance, liquidity, and interoperability into RLUSD — is resonating with the very institutions that will define the next phase of digital finance.

If adoption continues along this trajectory, Visa’s acknowledgment of RLUSD could mark the start of a broader institutional embrace, where Ripple’s technology becomes a cornerstone of how global credit truly moves.

XRPL validator Vet recently highlighted a distinctive approach Circle has taken in issuing USDC on the XRP Ledger.

The validator stated that Circle is using a decentralized exchange (DEX) on the XRP Ledger to issue USDC, calling the process unique and worth exploring.

In an attached video, Vet provided an in-depth explanation of how this method works and how it differs from traditional token creation mechanisms on the XRP Ledger.

Circle is using the decentralized exchange (DEX) on the XRP Ledger to issue $USDC.

That's unique, but how does it work? pic.twitter.com/g8dUZP5NrS

— Vet (@Vet_X0) September 1, 2025

Traditional Token Creation on XRPL

Vet first outlined the standard way tokens are created on the XRP Ledger. He explained that two accounts are required: an issuer account and a minter account. The issuer initiates a payment to the minter, which results in the creation of new tokens.

For example, if the issuer sends a payment of 100 RL USD to the minter, the minter gains a balance of 100 RL USD, while the issuer’s account shows a debt of 100 RL USD. This simple and direct mechanism is the same method Ripple uses when issuing tokens, making it a straightforward process of payment-based token creation.

The Role of the Centre Consortium

Moving on to Circle’s model, VET explained that the process involves the Centre Consortium, an entity co-founded by Circle and Coinbase to oversee the issuance and governance of USDC.

This consortium is designed to manage requirements such as restricting minting rights to authorized members, adding or removing members, and setting limits on the amount of USDC to be minted by individual participants. These rules ensure that only vetted organizations within the consortium can issue USDC, while preventing unauthorized activity.

Dual Token System: USDC and USDC Allow

The consortium introduced a dual-token system involving two accounts on the XRP Ledger: one issuing USDC and another issuing USDC Allow. The distinction is significant. USDC Allow is restricted to consortium members and used for minting purposes, while USDC itself remains open to the wider public. VET noted that this dual system enables Circle to enforce membership rules while still keeping the stablecoin freely accessible to users outside the consortium.

Using the DEX for Minting

Unlike the traditional payment method, Circle employs the XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchange to facilitate token creation. The issuer creates a DEX offer that allows one USDC Allow to be exchanged for one USDC at a one-to-one ratio. When a consortium member issues 1,000 USDC Allow, they can then trade it on the DEX for 1,000 USDC.

This mechanism effectively transfers USDC to the consortium member, while the issuer account shows a corresponding liability. By structuring issuance through the DEX, Circle ensures that the minting process is transparent and entirely on-chain.

Transparency and Control

Vet emphasized that this approach offers both transparency and flexibility. USDC Allow ensures that only authorized members can participate in minting, while USDC remains unrestricted for general use.

The use of the decentralized exchange adds a layer of transparency, since all transactions and offers are verifiable on-chain. This method, though more complex than the traditional payment-based model, provides a system that aligns with Circle’s need for controlled issuance while preserving accessibility for the broader market.

In his explanation, Vet concluded that Circle’s decision to issue USDC via the XRP Ledger’s DEX is an innovative approach that balances governance requirements with the benefits of decentralization.

By leveraging the DEX, Circle ensures transparency in the minting process while maintaining strict controls through USDC Allow. This structure demonstrates how the XRP Ledger’s native functionalities can be used to build flexible and secure systems for stablecoin issuance.

Speculation is once again swirling about a possible Ripple acquisition of Circle, and recent developments suggest the door is far from closed. According to crypto analyst SMQKE on X, Circle’s decision to go public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has created the transparency needed for valuation alignment.

Earlier talks between Circle, Coinbase, and Ripple collapsed mainly over pricing, not strategic fit—a gap that public market price discovery may now bridge.

Why Pricing Stalled Earlier Ripple–Circle Talks

The biggest obstacle in earlier negotiations was cost. SMQKE notes that while Circle’s USDC stablecoin is a strategic asset for payment providers, suitors like Ripple and Coinbase balked at the valuation.

Now, with Circle’s shares trading under ticker CRCL, both investors and potential acquirers have access to audited filings, quarterly performance data, and a clearer market-driven valuation. This visibility could set the stage for renewed M&A discussions, especially with Ripple.

Yes, Ripple could still acquire Circle.

“Don’t hastily conclude that Circle’s M&A prospects are dead. Potential synergies with Coinbase or Ripple are real, but the deals failed primarily over pricing. Price discovery in the public market could help narrow this gap and reignite… https://t.co/40FbeRn13S pic.twitter.com/dSsTdiHXws

— SMQKE (@SMQKEDQG) August 22, 2025

Circle’s Financial Strains in the Spotlight

Circle’s IPO filings reveal why potential acquirers are cautious. Distribution costs and transaction-related expenses consume an estimated 60% of revenue, significantly compressing margins. This means Circle’s earnings are less about growth and more about interest rate fluctuations on its reserves.

When U.S. interest rates are high, Circle’s revenues improve thanks to stronger reserve yields. But when they fall, profitability shrinks sharply. For a buyer like Ripple, these economics raise important questions: Can Circle deliver sustainable margins, or will earnings remain at the mercy of central bank policy?

The Strategic Value for Ripple

Despite these challenges, the rationale for a Ripple buyout of Circle remains compelling. Ripple’s core strength lies in building institutional-grade blockchain solutions for cross-border payments and liquidity management. Owning Circle would give Ripple direct control over USDC, the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization, instantly boosting Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) network.

Integrating USDC into RippleNet could make cross-border settlements faster, cheaper, and more efficient, strengthening Ripple’s competitive edge against both traditional financial institutions and blockchain rivals like Ethereum and Stellar.

Regulatory Optics Still Matter

Any Ripple M&A deal involving Circle would not only depend on valuation but also on regulatory clarity. Ripple continues to navigate its drawn-out legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), while Circle is positioning itself as a model of compliance and transparency.

Bringing the two companies together could create a powerful alliance of infrastructure and liquidity, but Ripple must carefully consider the optics of a major acquisition while its regulatory story is still unfolding.

A Conditional but Plausible Deal

SMQKE is correct that Circle’s NYSE listing has provided a clearer foundation for renewed talks. But clarity does not guarantee execution. Ripple would need Circle to demonstrate stronger margin resilience, possibly by restructuring its costly distribution agreements.

For now, the likelihood of a Ripple–Circle acquisition depends on two factors: Circle’s ability to stabilize earnings and Ripple’s regulatory trajectory. If both align, a buyout could become one of the most transformative deals in the crypto payments sector.

Crypto researcher SMQKE published a post aimed at clarifying a persistent misunderstanding in the digital asset community, namely, the confusion between stablecoins such as USDC and native blockchain assets like XRP.

The post, which referenced several supporting documents, addressed claims made by a public figure who misrepresented the technical and institutional advantages of Ripple’s RLUSD over Circle’s USDC.

SMQKE presented four detailed comparisons underscoring RLUSD’s integrated blockchain solution and emphasized how the XRP Ledger (XRPL) offers a more comprehensive cross-border payment infrastructure.

Dave Portnoy Part 2.

Many still confuse a stablecoin like USDC with a native asset like XRP. These four pieces of evidence clearly show why the XRPL solution using RLUSD is superior to USDC’s tech stack:

1. USDC relies entirely on third-party blockchains. The first document… https://t.co/2SZLysZlDg pic.twitter.com/vbgQGav5bp

— SMQKE (@SMQKEDQG) July 25, 2025

Ripple Offers a Unified Blockchain and Stablecoin Solution

The first image cited by SMQKE references the XRPL’s capacity to deliver both the distributed ledger technology and the native stablecoin.

According to the analysis, while USDC is available on multiple chains, including its recent launch on the XRPL, its issuer, Circle, does not operate its blockchain. The document noted that RLUSD stands apart by offering a vertically integrated solution. Ripple provides both the token and the underlying ledger, reducing dependency on third parties.

This design benefits institutions by eliminating the need for external partnerships to move value, as Ripple controls both the rails (XRPL) and the currency (RLUSD), whereas Circle relies on external blockchain infrastructures for USDC operations.

XRP Ledger’s Transaction Efficiency

SMQKE’s second point addressed the issue of transaction costs. Referencing a comparative study of cross-border payment assets, the included document contrasted XRPL’s transaction costs and speeds against USDC’s reliance on Ethereum, which is frequently criticized for its higher fees.

The report indicated that XRPL processes transactions in three to five seconds at a fraction of a cent, while Ethereum-based transactions may incur higher and more variable costs. XRP’s underlying deflationary tokenomics and built-in interoperability features also provide it with added utility in multi-chain environments, further reinforcing XRPL’s position in institutional financial infrastructure.

We are on X, follow us to connect with us :- @TimesTabloid1

— TimesTabloid (@TimesTabloid1) June 15, 2025

Anchorage Digital Endorses RLUSD’s Institutional Structure

In the third piece of evidence, SMQKE shared a report from Anchorage Digital that evaluated various stablecoins based on regulatory oversight and reserve composition. The report placed RLUSD alongside other high-compliance assets like PYUSD and USDP, citing its institutional alignment and quality reserve mechanisms.

In contrast, it noted that USDC and similar tokens exhibit structural risks related to insufficient buffers against market volatility. This reinforced SMQKE’s assertion that RLUSD is better equipped to meet regulatory expectations and institutional risk management standards.

Circle’s Launch of USDC on XRP Ledger

Lastly, SMQKE included Circle’s recent announcement that USDC is now natively supported on the XRPL. In the announcement, Circle outlined use cases for enterprise payments, DeFi liquidity provisioning, and financial applications.

SMQKE pointed out that this move by Circle itself demonstrates recognition of XRPL’s technical advantages. While Circle brings USDC to XRPL, Ripple does not depend on Circle or similar entities to enable stablecoin functionality, as it has developed RLUSD directly on its infrastructure.

By sharing these documents, SMQKE aimed to provide a factual basis for distinguishing Ripple’s native solution from third-party stablecoin offerings. The researcher concluded the post by stating that these materials should prevent retail investors from embracing narratives that ignore the technical, cost, and institutional strengths of XRPL and RLUSD. According to SMQKE, Ripple’s ability to deliver an end-to-end solution positions it more favorably than stablecoins relying on external infrastructures.

Uphold has taken a major step in expanding the digital finance landscape by integrating USD Coin (USDC) into the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This development not only enhances the utility of stablecoins but also strengthens the XRPL’s position as a fast, scalable, and efficient blockchain network.

This marks the first time that a USDC wallet has been directly integrated into the XRPL, enabling seamless transfers of USDC in and out of XRP Ledger wallets. The collaboration bridges one of the world’s most trusted stablecoins with a blockchain platform celebrated for its speed, affordability, and eco-friendly architecture.

Connecting USDC to a High-Speed Blockchain

USDC, issued by Circle and fully backed by U.S. dollar reserves, has grown into a stablecoin widely used for payments, trading, and decentralized finance (DeFi). Its introduction to the XRP Ledger enables global users to benefit from the stability of a fiat-backed digital asset combined with the speed and reliability of the XRPL.

We’re bringing you USDC on XRPL!

Enjoy the flexibility of moving your $USDC to your Uphold and external XRPL wallet.

The XRP Ledger is designed to connect financial institutions, payment providers, and individuals, enabling fast and low-cost cross-border crypto transactions pic.twitter.com/gpY0mtj3lO

— Uphold (@UpholdInc) June 19, 2025

By operating on XRPL, USDC gains a robust infrastructure with fast finality and low transaction fees—ideal for use cases ranging from remittances and business payments to fintech and DeFi applications.

Real-World Use Cases for Everyday Users and Businesses

With Uphold’s support for USDC on XRPL, users can now send and receive money faster and more cost-effectively. Whether for personal finance, cross-border remittances, or enterprise transactions, the integration removes friction and enhances user experience across the board.

This also enables entrepreneurs and developers to create payment systems, financial apps, and DeFi solutions powered by USDC on the XRPL platform. The combination of a stable digital currency with a highly efficient blockchain network provides an ideal foundation for innovation.

Regulatory Progress Adds Momentum

The timing of this move aligns with recent regulatory advances in the United States. Lawmakers introduced the Genius Act on June 18, a proposed law that would create a federal regulatory framework for stablecoins backed by traditional currencies, such as USDC.

The act includes clear guidelines for licensing, transparency, and reserve management, creating a more credible environment for issuers such as Circle. As regulatory clarity increases, institutional confidence in stablecoins is expected to grow, strengthening their role in mainstream financial operations.

We are on twitter, follow us to connect with us :- @TimesTabloid1

This increased legitimacy not only benefits USDC but also supports broader adoption of platforms like the XRP Ledger, which can serve as a regulatory-friendly environment for digital asset innovation.

XRP Ledger Achieves Deflationary Milestone

In parallel with this integration, the XRP Ledger has reached a significant deflationary benchmark. As of June 2025, over 13.8 million XRP have been permanently burned through transaction fees—an inbuilt feature of the protocol designed to gradually reduce the supply over time.

Although this figure is modest relative to the total supply cap of 100 billion XRP, it highlights consistent network usage and the XRPL’s deflationary nature. This mechanism adds long-term value support for XRP and reinforces the ledger’s attractiveness as a platform for asset issuance.

A Powerful Synergy for the Future of Finance

The integration of USDC into the XRP Ledger via Uphold represents more than just a technical update—it’s a pivotal moment for the future of blockchain-based finance. By bringing together a trusted, regulated stablecoin and a high-performance blockchain, this collaboration lays the groundwork for a new wave of financial innovation.

For developers, it unlocks the potential to build advanced payment applications and DeFi tools. For users, it delivers a faster, cheaper, and more dependable way to interact with digital money. And for the broader industry, it signals a maturing ecosystem that’s ready for regulatory adoption and global scale.

In a major step forward for blockchain adoption, D’CENT Wallet has announced full support for USDC on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This development allows users to securely store, send, and receive USDC—the fully reserved, regulated stablecoin issued by Circle—directly through the D’CENT platform.

Strengthening the USDC-XRPL Integration

The integration of USDC on the XRP Ledger represents a meaningful advancement in stablecoin utility across high-performance blockchains. Known for its blazing-fast transaction speeds, minimal fees, and energy-efficient consensus mechanism, XRPL offers an ideal environment for stablecoin activity. Now, with USDC live on this network, users gain access to a trusted digital dollar that functions seamlessly on a next-generation blockchain.

Originally launched on XRPL through a strategic partnership between Ripple and Circle, USDC was introduced to enhance liquidity, facilitate cross-border payments, and increase interoperability across blockchain ecosystems. Its presence on XRPL paves the way for broader DeFi use cases and improved financial access. D’CENT Wallet’s latest move now brings that promise directly to users.

Secure. Regulated. Fast. $USDC on XRP Ledger is now live on D'CENT Wallet.#XRPCommunity #XRPArmy pic.twitter.com/ivfdmqLWFC

D’CENT Wallet: The Secure Gateway

Developed by IoTrust, D’CENT Wallet is a leading crypto wallet solution known for its strong security features and broad asset support. It offers both biometric hardware wallets and mobile wallet applications, allowing users to interact with digital assets securely and conveniently.

By adding support for USDC on the XRP Ledger, D’CENT becomes one of the first wallets to enable this functionality. The announcement, shared via the official D’CENT Wallet account on X, highlights three key features of the integration: “Secure. Regulated. Fast.” These qualities not only describe USDC itself but also reflect the strengths of the XRP Ledger and D’CENT’s platform.

Why This Matters for Users and Developers

The launch of USDC on XRPL via D’CENT Wallet unlocks new opportunities for users and developers alike. For everyday users, it means faster and cheaper USDC transactions, without relying on slower or more expensive networks like Ethereum. With the XRP Ledger’s transaction finality of just a few seconds and negligible fees, stablecoin transfers become more practical and accessible.

For developers and businesses building on XRPL, this integration opens the door to stablecoin-enabled applications, including remittances, payments, lending, and decentralized exchanges. With D’CENT providing a secure and user-friendly interface, the ecosystem is now better equipped to support real-world financial services powered by blockchain.

A Glimpse Into the Future

This development is part of a broader industry shift toward integrating regulated stablecoins with efficient blockchain infrastructures and secure wallets. It demonstrates how blockchain can deliver real utility, offering users financial products that are fast, transparent, and easy to use.

With USDC now live on the XRP Ledger and accessible via D’CENT Wallet, the blockchain community takes another step toward mainstream adoption. Users can now manage and transact digital dollars with confidence, speed, and security—all in one place.

The future of finance is forming at the intersection of utility, compliance, and innovation. And today, D’CENT Wallet places that future right at your fingertips.

In a highly anticipated and potentially market-changing development, Circle has officially announced the launch of USDC on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), expanding the stablecoin’s reach to one of the longest-running Layer-1 blockchains.

The move enables developers, institutions, and users to access USDC on the XRPL mainnet without the need for bridges or third-party wrappers, marking a key step toward deeper stablecoin utility across the ecosystem.

The XRP Ledger has steadily expanded its capabilities over the years, attracting a growing community of developers and institutions focused on building real-world financial applications.

The eyes of the crypto world are currently on the stablecoin market due to the Genius Act. This recent move by Circle has further expanded XRP’s reach into this sector of the market.

A Highly Anticipated Development

In early 2024, Panos Mekras, a popular figure in the XRP community, shared a response from Circle revealing that it had no plans to launch USDC on the XRP Ledger, although it was looking for ways to expand the reach of the stablecoin.

Mekras and many community members called on Ripple to step in and make it happen, and this development shows that Ripple listened to its community.

New Utility for the XRP Ledger

USDC is the second-largest and largest regulated stablecoin in the crypto market. Circle’s announcement revealed that it is now supported on XRPL via Circle Mint and Circle APIs. This offers streamlined access to USDC liquidity, leveraging XRPL’s high-speed, low-cost, and secure transaction environment.

We are on twitter, follow us to connect with us :- @TimesTabloid1

The XRPL has been live since 2012 and has processed over 3.3 billion transactions to date. Its focus on efficient value exchange has attracted projects in sectors ranging from remittances to real-world asset tokenization. With native USDC support, developers can now build and deploy new use cases across payments, DeFi, and financial infrastructure directly on XRPL.

Impact on XRP and the Broader Ecosystem

Ripple recently attempted to acquire Circle for $5 billion, but the offer was turned down. The company pressed on, and recent reports suggest the offer has been increased to the $9 to $11 billion range, outbidding Coinbase. This massive launch suggests something positive might materialize from Ripple’s attempts to acquire the company.

Ripple is already making major progress in the stablecoin space with RLUSD, and this move represents a meaningful expansion of the ledger’s capabilities, positioning it as a more competitive platform for financial and enterprise-grade applications.

Excitement is brewing across the Ripple and XRP communities as fresh speculation surfaces about the possibility of Ripple acquiring Circle, one of the most prominent names in the stablecoin industry. Should these expectations materialize, analysts believe XRP could see significant long-term gains.

Analyst Weighs In on Ripple’s Strategic Potential

Adding perspective to the conversation, the well-known pseudonymous X account “Kate Young Ju” — linked to Ki Young Ju, the founder of blockchain analytics firm CryptoQuant — weighed in on the matter in a recent post.

XRP gives off the vibe of a league of capital market pros. It’s got its flaws, but there’s something undeniably sharp about how it moves.

There’s a rumor floating around that Ripple might acquire Circle. I don’t know if it’s true, but if it is, it’d be a very strategic move.…

— Kate The Alt (@kate_young_ju) May 21, 2025

“XRP gives off the impression of a team of seasoned capital market experts,” the account remarked. “Sure, it has its shortcomings, but you can’t ignore the precision in its market behavior.”

The commentary touched on the growing rumors about Ripple possibly pursuing an acquisition of Circle, framing such a move as a calculated step for Ripple as it sharpens its focus on payments and liquidity solutions.

A Game-Changing Deal on the Horizon?

Timestabloid recently reported that Circle has initiated informal discussions with Ripple and Coinbase, exploring the possibility of an acquisition. According to sources familiar with the matter, Circle is aiming for a sale valuation of no less than $5 billion — aligning closely with its anticipated valuation for its planned Initial Public Offering (IPO).

The analyst highlighted that the rising appetite for stablecoins among institutional players — both within the crypto sphere and in traditional finance — could amplify interest in XRP if such a deal were finalized.

We are on twitter, follow us to connect with us :- @TimesTabloid1

Institutional Investors Could Shift Toward XRP

With major investors eagerly watching the evolution of the stablecoin market, the analyst suggested that Ripple’s potential acquisition of Circle could reshape capital flows. Specifically, investors who were gearing up to back Circle’s IPO may instead divert attention — and funds — toward XRP as the broader ecosystem strengthens.

“There’s chatter going around that Ripple might be looking to acquire Circle,” the analyst shared. “I can’t confirm if it’s accurate, but if it happens, it would be a brilliant strategic play. With the immense institutional interest in the stablecoin sector, those eyeing Circle’s IPO might pivot to XRP investments instead. Just to clarify — this is an independent observation; I don’t hold any XRP, nor is this a sponsored post.”

What’s Next for XRP?

As speculation gains momentum, the Ripple community is keeping a close watch on any developments. A successful deal with Circle would not only bolster Ripple’s position in the stablecoin arena but could also pave the way for greater institutional involvement with XRP, further fueling its long-term growth narrative.

While these discussions remain unconfirmed, they signal the increasing convergence between traditional financial interests and the evolving crypto landscape, with XRP potentially standing at the center of the next wave of institutional engagement.

This recognition, recently disclosed, is being hailed as a pivotal moment by industry observers. SMQKE, a respected voice on X, spotlighted the inclusion, emphasizing the broader implications for Ripple’s growing role in the digital asset ecosystem.

Official Recognition: A Strategic Milestone for RLUSD

The Treasury slide, part of a formal analysis exploring the potential consequences of stablecoin growth on the U.S. Treasury market, categorizes RLUSD among “self-reported stablecoin issuers” with disclosed reserve data. Despite launching in late 2024, RLUSD now finds itself mentioned in the same breath as Circle’s USDC and Tether’s USDT—stablecoins that have been market mainstays for years.

This is not a casual inclusion; it’s a formal signal from one of the world’s most influential financial authorities that RLUSD is now part of the strategic conversation around digital dollar instruments.

Stablecoin Growth and U.S. Treasury Market Impact

The broader context of the presentation focused on how stablecoins, especially those backed by short-duration Treasury assets, are impacting market dynamics. As the report highlights, stablecoins now hold over $120 billion in total market capitalization, and their collective allocation toward Treasury bills, especially those under 1-year maturity, is growing rapidly.

Tether (USDT) and Circle (USDC) already command tens of billions in combined reserves, with substantial exposure to the Treasury market. The report projects this influence will only increase as tokenized money market funds (MMFs) and stablecoins become more attractive to both institutional and retail investors.

From Newcomer to Economic Actor

What’s particularly notable about RLUSD’s mention is that it enters this narrative not merely as a speculative token, but as a reserve-backed stablecoin already considered in market stress scenarios. According to the Treasury’s framework, RLUSD, like its more established counterparts, contributes to the demand for short-term U.S. government debt and is part of a broader shift in liquidity sourcing for digital financial products.

This inclusion speaks volumes about Ripple’s strategic positioning. RLUSD is issued directly by Ripple and is natively integrated with both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. Its infrastructure leverages Ripple’s compliance-first approach, especially significant in a market environment where regulatory approval is becoming a key differentiator.

The Treasury’s recognition suggests that RLUSD is not just technically compliant, but economically significant enough to be factored into federal-level financial impact assessments.

Ripple’s Expanding Influence in Global Finance

This development also underscores the growing institutional acknowledgment of Ripple as a systemically relevant player in global finance. Ripple’s expanding suite of services—ranging from cross-border payments and CBDC infrastructure to stablecoins—places it at the nexus of blockchain innovation and traditional finance. RLUSD’s inclusion by the Treasury reinforces this trajectory and could shape future policy discussions about the role of private stablecoins in the U.S. economy.

A Turning Point in Financial Policy

SMQKE’s timely analysis captures the significance of this shift. As he noted, the fact that a stablecoin launched less than a year ago is already being evaluated by the Treasury alongside dominant issuers is not just unusual—it’s historic. It validates Ripple’s long-standing strategy of building compliant, institutional-grade products capable of integrating with global financial systems.

RLUSD and the Future of Digital Money

In a time when the line between crypto and mainstream finance is becoming increasingly blurred, the U.S. Treasury’s formal recognition of RLUSD sets a new precedent. Ripple is no longer just a blockchain firm offering payment solutions—it is becoming part of the architecture of modern finance. RLUSD, once seen as a newcomer, is now officially one of the pillars shaping the future of digital money.
