“Spend Dollars, Earn XRP”: Another XRP Ad Surfaces on New York Times Square

New York City’s Times Square is once again showcasing a bold cryptocurrency message, this time promoting Gemini’s newly launched XRP Mastercard Credit Card.

The large digital display, which reads “Spend Dollars, Earn XRP,” stands above one of the busiest intersections in the world. This indicates the push by Gemini and Ripple to further bring XRP into the limelight.

Amelie (@_CryptoBarbie), a well-known crypto influencer on X, posted an image of the advertisement, stating that XRP is taking over globally.

Meanwhile, Gemini had placed a billboard in Manhattan before launch, and now the advertisement has been extended to highlight the official release of the product. The rollout is being marketed not just within crypto circles but also to everyday consumers.

The Gemini XRP Credit Card

The Gemini XRP Credit Card officially launched on August 25, 2025, in partnership with Ripple, Mastercard, and WebBank. The card is available to U.S. customers and represents a significant addition to Gemini’s line of crypto-linked financial products. Unlike traditional credit cards, this one offers rewards directly in XRP.

The rewards structure is designed to appeal to regular consumers while tying everyday spending to digital assets. Users earn 4% back in XRP on fuel, EV charging, rideshare, and transit purchases. Dining earns 3%, grocery purchases earn 2%, and all other categories provide 1% back. Gemini has also partnered with select merchants to offer promotional rates of up to 10% back in XRP.

The card is available with no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, and no additional cost for converting rewards into cryptocurrency. The card also features a unique, eco-friendly metal design with no visible card numbers to protect sensitive data. The design makes this data accessible only through the Gemini app.

An Important Collaboration for XRP

The release of the XRP Credit Card comes only days after Ripple resolved its long-standing legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, removing a major barrier to XRP’s expansion. With regulatory clarity established, Gemini and Ripple have moved quickly to expand XRP’s role in consumer finance.

The collaboration is not limited to the credit card. The partnership has also been reinforced by Ripple providing a $75 million credit line to Gemini. The billboard in Times Square represents an ongoing strategy to position XRP as a practical component of consumer spending.

By combining Mastercard’s infrastructure with Ripple’s blockchain ecosystem and Gemini’s exchange platform, the new product seeks to make cryptocurrency more accessible to the average consumer.
