A comment from Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has sparked a surge of discourse and engagement among SHIB token holders. This surge stems from Kusama’s inclusion of Shibarium, the community’s dedicated layer-2 blockchain solution, in a CoinGecko poll.
CoinGecko, one of the largest crypto data aggregators, started a poll on X asking what chain the crypto community preferred trading on. The CoinGecko poll initially presented users with established options like Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, and Bitcoin Ordinals/BRC-20.

While Solana held the leading position, followed by Ethereum and BRC-20, Avalanche trailed behind. However, Shibarium was excluded, and Kusama inserted it in a reply to the original poll.
Kusama’s addition of Shibarium injected a new dimension into the discussion, prompting fervent support and enthusiasm from the Shiba Inu community. This action was perceived as a recognition of Shibarium’s growing significance within the crypto world, and its potential to compete with established players.
Shibarium has been steadily carving its path within the blockchain sphere, achieving notable milestones and exceeding initial expectations. Nine days after its relaunch, Shibarium crossed 1.1 million transactions and 1.1 million wallets.
This milestone was a strong start for the layer-2 blockchain solution. Although Shibarium’s growth stalled shortly after, it has remained at the forefront of the Shiba Inu community.
SHIB’s growth is further evidenced by the influx of new projects choosing Shibarium as their foundation, alongside the continued development of existing initiatives within its ecosystem. Data from Shibariumscan.io places SHIB’s total completed transactions at 160.416 million, with 5.53 million transactions over the past 24 hours.

The SHIB army’s dedication is further reflected in the recent surge in the burn rate, a crucial metric for the community. After the first burns on Shibarium recently destroyed 8.24 billion SHIB, more massive burns are expected. These burns represent a collective effort and commitment to the project’s long-term success.
While Kusama’s X post may have been a simple act, it was an opportunity for the SHIB army to show their dedication to Shibarium.
Moving forward, the eyes of the blockchain world will undoubtedly be upon the Shiba Inu community and its ambitious endeavors.
With the reignited excitement caused by Kusama’s post, the community can now turn their eyes in anticipation of the major announcement that the SHIB lead developer recently promised.
