Ripple (XRP) Involved? ACI Officially Connects to SWIFT’s Ledger

ACI Worldwide, a global financial-technology company, has expanded its payments infrastructure to support transactions orchestrated through SWIFT’s ledger, as documentation from the payments technology company lists Ripple among the distributed ledger technology (DLT) rails it supports.

Crypto researcher SMQKE pointed to the development in a post on X and shared documentation showing the connection between ACI, SWIFT, and DLT-based payment systems.

SMQKE Highlights Ripple Reference

SMQKE wrote on X, “JUST IN: ACI OFFICIALLY CONNECTS TO SWIFT’S LEDGER —> RIPPLE IS LISTED AS A DLT RAIL FOR ACI.”

The researcher attached screenshots showing ACI Worldwide’s announcement and a separate ACI presentation about its work with SWIFT.

ACI Worldwide announced on September 22 that it had extended ACI Connetic to support payments orchestrated through SWIFT’s ledger. The company said the expansion will help banks process tokenized deposit payments alongside traditional payment types through the same operational controls, workflows, and infrastructure.

The move allows financial institutions to manage these payment types without creating separate digital-asset payment operations. ACI described the approach as a way for banks to connect different payment rails through a single operating model.

ACI Presentation Names Ripple

The second screenshot by SMQKE provides the key reference behind his post. ACI’s presentation explains that the company supports real-time payment schemes worldwide and helps banks connect to different payment systems.

The presentation specifically mentions “DLT (e.g., Ripple)” when describing the technologies that ACI can support.

SMQKE used that reference to connect Ripple with ACI’s expanding payments infrastructure. However, the reference does not establish that XRP forms part of the newly announced SWIFT ledger implementation.

ACI’s September 22 announcement focuses on SWIFT’s ledger and tokenized deposit payments. It does not state that ACI will use XRP for those transactions.

SWIFT Ledger Expands Tokenized Payment Support

SWIFT has been developing its ledger to support tokenized deposits and other digital payments for financial institutions. ACI’s integration gives banks access to Swift-ledger payment flows through its existing payments infrastructure.

ACI also supports several types of payment networks and DLT-based systems. Its presentation identifies Ripple as an example of a DLT rail within that wider payments environment.

For XRP observers, SMQKE’s post focuses on the significance of that documented Ripple reference rather than claiming that the new SWIFT ledger initiative directly uses XRP.

The development nevertheless places Ripple within ACI’s documented DLT capabilities as the company expands its infrastructure for banks handling traditional and tokenized payments.
