Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of the social media platform X, recently announced an upgrade to the platform’s “Community Notes” feature. This update generated enthusiastic responses from both XRP enthusiasts and meme-focused accounts on X.
The upgrade focuses on improved language accessibility within Community Notes, a feature designed to allow users to collaboratively verify information and correct misinformation.

In a tweet, Musk highlighted the addition of a one-click translation function for comments within Community Notes. This functionality is currently available for contributors to the feature and will be rolled out to all X users soon.
The announcement sparked a wave of responses from users on X. Prominent XRP supporter @XRPcryptowolf reiterated a longstanding request for the platform to integrate cryptocurrency payments.
This sentiment was echoed by other users, including the meme-focused account @X_BEBEeth. Additionally, several meme accounts expressed their appreciation for Musk and the platform.
Musk’s update on X coincided with controversy surrounding a new AI feature announced by Microsoft. The company’s CEO, Satya Nadella, unveiled “Recall,” an add-on for the Co-Pilot AI tool. Recall automatically captures screenshots of users’ computer screens, allowing them to search this archive using AI-powered tools.
This development sparked concerns about user privacy. Musk likened the feature to a dystopian scenario in the TV series “Black Mirror” and announced his intention to disable it.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin questioned whether the captured data would be stored in Microsoft’s servers, while Ripple CTO David Schwartz expressed skepticism about the overall usefulness of the feature.

The contrasting responses to the updates from X and Microsoft highlight the ongoing debate surrounding technology and its impact on society.
While X’s focus on fostering a user-driven information verification system has garnered support from the XRP community and meme enthusiasts, Microsoft’s AI-powered screenshot capture tool has raised privacy concerns among prominent figures in the tech industry.
As X continues to evolve under Musk’s leadership, it will be interesting to see how the platform balances user experience with privacy considerations, and how these choices resonate with different online communities.
