Elon Musk’s Grok Predicts XRP Price for December If CLARITY Act Passes

XRP trades near $1.07 as of late July 2026. The CLARITY Act sits in legislative limbo, but there is still a chance the bill passes before the Senate recess on August 8.

To map out the long-term impact on XRP’s price, we consulted Grok, the AI assistant from Elon Musk’s xAI, for a projection on where XRP could trade by December if the bill passes.

The Base Case

Grok’s central prediction places XRP between $2 and $4 by December 2026. That range assumes the CLARITY Act passes in a meaningful timeframe and that market conditions remain moderately supportive. It is not a guarantee. It is a scenario built on reduced legal uncertainty, resumed institutional inflows, and a stable macro environment.

Standard Chartered’s adjusted 2026 target sits at $2.80, down sharply from an earlier $8 projection. That figure aligns with Grok’s base case and reflects what analysts expect from regulatory clarity alone, without exceptional conditions.

What the Bill Does for XRP

The CLARITY Act would codify XRP’s commodity status and place it under CFTC oversight for spot markets. It locks in non-security status more permanently, following prior court rulings and joint SEC-CFTC guidance that already treated XRP as a commodity.

That removes a significant legal overhang that has suppressed institutional comfort with XRP-based products, ETFs, and banking integrations. However, Grok is explicit that regulatory clarity is a catalyst, not a multiplier. Price outcomes depend on actual capital flows.

The Bull Case

If the Act passes and institutional inflows accelerate significantly, Grok puts higher single digits up to $9 in play. This scenario requires favorable macro conditions, visible traction in payments and banking, and strong ETF participation.

It is not the central expectation. Grok notes that prior modeling has explored figures as high as $243, but those are extreme hypotheticals.

Without Passage

If the Act stalls or is delayed significantly, XRP tracks broader crypto sentiment and upside becomes limited. Range-bound trading near current levels or below becomes more likely. Clarity helps, but it is not the only demand driver.

Where the Bill Stands

A merged draft with ethics provisions was released on July 22 and is on the Senate calendar. However, the Senate shelved it to prioritize the Lindsey Graham Russia sanctions bill and federal nominations. A vote before recess now looks unlikely.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has expressed a desire to open floor debate before recess. The bill currently has 51 confirmed votes, but recent reports suggest 7 to 10 additional Democrats now support it. For XRP, the legislation remains the most significant regulatory catalyst on the horizon.
