Crypto analyst Dark Defender (@DefendDark) has identified a key technical setup on XRP’s daily chart. The asset is trading at approximately $1.52. According to his analysis, the next 24 hours will determine the direction of the next significant move.

The chart shows a symmetrical triangle forming after XRP’s sharp rally from its Wave (5) low near $0.9852. The asset rallied strongly into the $1.69 area. This pump happened in late August and formed Wave (1). XRP then pulled back in a corrective structure to Wave (2) near the $1.30 range.

Since then, price has been compressing between converging trendlines, with higher lows meeting lower highs. A more recent rally pushed the asset toward the top of the triangle, but the consolidation continued. The current price sits right at the apex of that triangle.

What the Chart Shows

Dark Defender’s chart maps Fibonacci retracement levels across the recent price structure. The key support levels are 50.00% ($1.2939), 61.80% ($1.3798), and 70.20% ($1.4445). XRP is currently pressing against the 85.40% level. The resistance above the current price and potential targets are 85.40% ($1.5692) and 161.80% ($1.8815).

The chart also marks the recent peak of $1.6992. Dark Defender highlighted the current price area and the RSI panel, connecting price action to momentum. Every Trillion Transactions On XRPL Can Burn 100 Million XRP Forever

The XRP Ledger launched with 100 billion XRP. No new coins will ever enter circulation.

In a post on X, crypto commentator Pumpius (@pumpius) put numbers to what that fixed supply means as the network scales into sustained, AI-driven load.

He highlighted XRP’s fee-burning mechanism. Every transaction fee on XRPL is permanently destroyed.

The XRPL transaction base fee is 10 drops. At higher network load, that fee reaches 100 drops per transaction. Pumpius calculated what that means at scale: “Every trillion transactions at that higher fee level takes out 100 million XRP.” The destroyed supply does not return.

AI transactions are no longer hypothetical. The XRPL processed 10.8 million AI agent payments through the x402 protocol, reaching that milestone in under three months after hitting 1 million. Daily volume now averages 500,000 payments across over 2,000 live payable services and APIs.

100 Million Transactions is the Near-Term Target

Ripple President Monica Long put a specific number on where this is heading. Speaking at XRPL Seoul 2026, she predicted that AI agent transactions on the ledger will reach 100 million. That represents a 10x increase from the current 11 million figure. She said the AI-related activity made her bullish on growth potential.

Crypto analyst CasiTrades (@CasiTrades) published a detailed technical breakdown of the current structure, outlining two distinct scenarios for what comes next.

A Structure Running Out of Room

The 4-hour chart shows XRP has formed a second, smaller consolidation pattern directly beneath the $1.65 resistance. That pattern is approaching its apex. CasiTrades notes this compression has developed over approximately two weeks since the last test of that level.

The $1.65 zone corresponds to the .618 Fibonacci retracement on the macro scale, a level she has tracked as critical to confirming trend direction. The RSI on the chart shows a contracting triangle pattern, reflecting the same compression visible in price.

Momentum has faded since the surge in September, and the indicator now sits at 52.89 and 52.45 on the dual lines, a neutral reading that offers no clear directional signal on its own.

Two Paths Forward

CasiTrades identifies a possible final push toward approximately $1.70 to complete the current wave structure. This would bring XRP back to its August peak. If the price reaches that level, she plans to watch RSI for “another degree of bearish divergence to confirm the larger top” before a Wave 2 correction begins.

The chart marks $1.7052 as the .618 extension target and $1.6568 as the .5 level within that zone. She also raises the alternate scenario directly. XRP “has a habit of failing its final 5th waves and heading straight into correction.” A new high is not required to complete the structure.

Anchorage Digital Joins as Custodian

On September 29, the Sponsor and Anchorage Digital Bank N.A. entered into the Sixth Amendment to the Master Custody Service Agreement. Anchorage Digital is a national trust bank chartered by the OCC. It will provide custody and safekeeping services for a portion of the Trust’s XRP holdings.

The ETF now operates with dual custody. Coinbase Custody Trust Company, LLC remains a custodian alongside Anchorage Digital. Two institutional-grade custodians holding the Trust’s assets reduce concentration risk. It also signals that Grayscale is building a more robust infrastructure around GXRP as institutional interest in XRP grows.

Opening the Door to Institutional Capital

The second upgrade carries significant weight for XRP markets. The Trust has amended Participant Agreements to allow in-kind creations and redemptions. Authorized participants can now move actual XRP directly in and out of the ETF, rather than transacting only in cash.

Large institutional participants, including market makers and hedge funds, strongly prefer in-kind mechanisms. These transactions are more tax-efficient and reduce market impact compared to cash-based processes.

The data, pulled from Arkham Intelligence, shows a wallet address sending 13,320 ETH to a Coinbase deposit address approximately 7 hours before the post. The transfer carried a value of $36.34 million.

The transfer history on this wallet tells a longer story. 6 months earlier, the same address sent 15,000 ETH to the same Coinbase deposit, valued at $30.97 million. Two smaller transfers of 2 ETH ($4,130) and 0.1 ETH ($205.27) followed shortly after. A year earlier, the wallet received 1.1 ETH from a Coinbase deposit.

The Scale of the Gain

The entry price on this position was $0.31 per ETH. The asset has not traded at that level since 2015. At the time of the most recent sale, ETH was trading at roughly $2,727. That puts the return at approximately 8,750x on investment. The 13,320 ETH sold in the highlighted transaction alone generated $36.34 million, and showed how massive long-term investments can be.

One commenter noted that the wallet sold at a $1,137 average across 170,000 ETH, covering nearly the entire ICO stack, calling it a “full exit, 3,655x.” The cost basis on approximately 13,400 ETH was around $4,150 total at $0.31 per token.

The SBI Group presentation states that Evernorth has executed a PIPE investment involving a U.S. company scheduled to engage in the XRP treasury business alongside U.S. Ripple Inc. and other participants. It also says Evernorth plans to operate an XRP Ledger validator, while a major auditing firm will independently audit its financial reporting.

SBI Group Invests $200 Million

The presentation also details the capital Evernorth raised. SBI Group invested $200 million in cash, while Evernorth raised more than $1 billion in total through a combination of spot XRP and cash.

The presentation identifies Ripple, Chris Larsen, institutional investors, and crypto asset exchanges as participants in the fundraising. It also states that Evernorth plans to increase the value of its assets through active measures rather than merely holding XRP.
