The chart places the macro .618 resistance at $1.6371. XRP recently pushed into this region before moving lower, leaving the main hurdle for bulls.

A sustained move above $1.6371 would give XRP a significant technical development. CasiTrades specifically wants to see the price break above the macro .618 and then return to test that level as support.

That retest would show that buyers can defend the former resistance. CasiTrades described this confirmation as the “structural shift” that would signal the beginning of a new trend.

Higher Targets Come Into View

The chart also marks additional Fibonacci levels above the current price. The 0.618 level near $1.5331 and the 0.65 level around $1.5320 sit close to the current trading area. XRP’s ability to hold above these levels can help establish momentum toward the larger resistance near $1.6371.

BarriC said people “immediately scream ‘MARKET CAP'” when they hear five-figure XRP prices. He argued the real question is how much value each XRP could move if used for SWIFT-scale settlement. SWIFT is associated with roughly $5 trillion to $7.5 trillion in payment instructions daily, according to BarriC.

At $100 per XRP, moving $5 trillion would require 50 billion XRP. At $1,000 per XRP, that figure drops to 5 billion. At $10,000 per XRP, the daily requirement falls to 500 million tokens. In a post on X, Rector said XRP recorded a 986x market cap multiplier during its recent move from $1 to $1.70, based on approximately $44.3 million in net inflows and more than $44 billion in market cap growth.

“$44.3 MILLION- Netflow $44.3 BILLION- Market Cap Growth 986x Market Cap Multiplier,” Rector wrote in the post, directing followers to a video containing his full calculation.

In the video, Rector explained that he reviewed XRP’s inflows and outflows over the period when the cryptocurrency moved from around $1 on August 19 to $1.70 on August 21. According to his tally, XRP recorded approximately $105 million in inflows and $60 million in outflows during the period.

That resulted in a net inflow of about $44.3 million. At the same time, Rector said XRP’s market capitalization rose from $62 billion to $106 billion, representing growth of about $43.74 billion.

Rector Explains the 986x Calculation

Rector calculated the market cap multiplier by dividing the $43.74 billion increase in market capitalization by the $44.3 million net inflow. Although he arrived at 986x, he also cited 987x when using the more precise figures in his video.

Rector emphasized that the calculation does not mean $43 billion of fresh capital entered XRP. Instead, he used it to illustrate the difference between net capital flows and changes in market capitalization.

He attributed the large multiplier to the structure of crypto markets and what he described as relatively thin order books. In his view, limited buying pressure can affect the price when liquidity is insufficient to absorb selling at nearby levels.

Rector said the move eventually encountered stronger resistance around the $1.60 to $1.70 range, which he identified as the upper end of the trading range XRP had maintained during much of 2026.

XRP Price Outlook Remains a Key Focus

Rector also connected the market-cap calculation to broader expectations for XRP’s future price performance. He referenced Canary Capital CEO Stephen McClurg, who said he would not be surprised to see XRP above $3 or $4 within the next 12 months.

The commentator also cited technical analyst XForce Global, who described the recovery from the recent lows as potentially the beginning of a new impulse trend. Rector further referenced ChartNerd’s longer-term projections of $8, $13, and $27 during the next major cycle.

However, Rector noted that XRP could still pull back before a sustained advance. He specifically identified the $1.20 to $1.30 area as a possible level for another test, while saying he was considering moving his own buy orders toward the $1.30 to $1.35 range.

For Rector, the 986x calculation provides a data-based explanation for why he believes XRP can rally substantially without requiring an equivalent amount of new capital to enter the market. He stated that market capitalization represents the latest traded price multiplied by circulating supply and should not be treated as a direct measure of the money invested in an asset.

The calculation therefore forms the central point of Rector’s latest commentary: XRP’s move from $1 to $1.70 coincided with a relatively small net inflow compared with the resulting increase in market capitalization.
