Breaking: Court Orders SEC and Ripple to meet at a Conference to Discuss Hinman’s Documents

Since both Ripple, the San Francisco-based cross-border payment firm, and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), are not willing to let go, the court has decided to make both parties attend a conference where they will discuss the renewed attorney-client privilege claims over Hinman’s documents.

It can be recalled that the SEC has refused to release Hinman’s 2018 documents despite being ordered by the court to surrender them. The regulator continues to come up with many excuses in order to keep the vital documents away from Ripple and the court.

As shared on Twitter by James K. Filan, the conference is slated to hold in Courtroom 23B, Daniel P. Moynihan Courthouse, 500 Pearl Street, New York City, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 3 pm.

James K. Filan tweeted, “BREAKING: Conference scheduled for Tuesday, June 07, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. to discuss the SEC’s renewed assertion of the attorney-client privilege as to internal documents related to Hinman’s June 14, 2018 speech.”

The lawsuit against Ripple, which was filed in December 2020, has continued to get delayed beyond expectation. And this is already making many XRP community members worry.

The SEC has been deploying all the viable weapons in its arsenal to delay the lawsuit unnecessarily in order to make it end in its favor. However, Ripple and its involved executives are leaving no stone unturned, believing that victory in the lawsuit will not only benefit the XRP community but the crypto industry as a whole.

Recently, James K. Filan shared an updated timeline for the conclusion of the long-standing lawsuit. According to the update, putting a number of outstanding issues into consideration, the case is estimated to end on or before the 31st of March 2023.
