Binance, the world’s largest digital asset exchange by market, has announced that it is upgrading its XRP wallet infrastructure.
The new development was shared by a Chinese crypto reporter Colin Lu. According to the report, as part of the upgrade, some XRP deposit addresses and memos will expire in the Q3 of 2023. Affected users are expected to update their addresses and memos in order to continue depositing XRP into their Binance accounts.
Alongside XRP, other digital asset addresses that Binance is set to retire include BTC, BCH, SOL, XMR, LTC, ADA, DOGE, DOT, FIL, ALGO, AVAX, and many others.

The wallet upgrade is part of Binance’s ongoing efforts to improve user fund security and efficiency. By adjusting deposit addresses and memos, Binance can help to prevent fraud and ensure that XRP transactions are processed smoothly.
Users who have been affected by the wallet upgrade will receive an email notification from Binance. This notification will include the new deposit address and memo that they need to use. Users who do not receive a notification do not need to take any action.
It is important to note that only users who have received a notification from Binance need to update their XRP deposit addresses and memos. If you have not received a notification, you can continue to use your current deposit address without any problems.
The wallet upgrade will begin in July 2023 and will be completed by September 2023. After this date, any XRP deposits made to expired addresses will not be credited to the user’s account. Users who need to update their XRP deposit address and memo should do so as soon as possible to avoid any disruptions to their XRP transactions.

Binance Continues Emphasis on User Security
Notably, Binance has consistently placed great importance on implementing robust security measures and staying one step ahead of potential threats.
By refreshing their XRP addresses, Binance users can benefit from the latest advancements in security protocols. This proactive approach helps to safeguard against any vulnerabilities that may arise due to outdated address configurations.
Furthermore, Binance’s emphasis on user security extends beyond wallet upgrades. The exchange employs a range of security measures, including two-factor authentication, cold wallet storage, and routine security audits, to provide a secure trading environment for its users.
By actively encouraging users to refresh their XRP addresses, Binance sets a high bar for other cryptocurrency exchanges, demonstrating their dedication to maintaining a safe and reliable platform. This proactive stance is commendable and reinforces the exchange’s reputation as a leader in the industry.
As the cryptocurrency landscape continues to evolve, prioritizing security measures becomes increasingly crucial. By refreshing their XRP addresses, Binance users can stay ahead of potential security risks and enjoy the benefits of enhanced protection for their digital assets.
