CEO of AMC, Adam Aron, an entertainment cinema chain considered as the largest in the world, has confirmed that the firm is on the track of accepting the two largest meme tokens, Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) as means of payment in the first quarter of 2022.
Aron shared this with the crypto community via his official Twitter handle on 6th January 2022. According to the CEO, once the incorporation process is complete, DOGE and SHIB will be live for payments on the AMC website and mobile app.

Adam Aron tweeted, “I have been repeatedly asked when AMC expects to routinely accept Dogecoin and Shiba Inu for any and all payments made via the AMC web site and mobile app. I am being told that we are still well on track for the promised Q1 implementation, with exact timing most likely in March.”
Back in November 2021, Adam Aron announced that the company would accept DOGE and SHIB through Bitpay. Howbeit, at that time, Bitpay hadn’t started to support Shiba Inu. Aron claimed that the crypto payment processing company decided to start supporting SHIB at his request.
It can be recalled that the announcement of acceptance of Shiba Inu was at the request of the community itself, which responded mostly to a survey made by Aron on Twitter in November.

In the survey, he asked if they agreed with the acceptance of Dogecoin (DOGE) and later asked the same question about Shiba Inu (SHIB).
At that time, the CEO had already anticipated that AMC will begin to accept Shiba Inu in 90 to 120 days, that is, in the first quarter of this year. In early December, Bitpay, which already supported DOGE, started supporting SHIB.
