XRP Adopted By Binance Card as Ripple Opens Blockchain Hub in Toronto

XRP, the native token of Ripple has been added to the list of cryptocurrencies supported on the Binance Card. Meanwhile, Ripple has officially opened an Engineering hub in Toronto.

XRP Gains Major Adoption 

As revealed in a Twitter post, XRP is now among the digital currencies Binance Card customers can use for spending both online and in physical marketplaces. In supported countries, users can also convert their XRP to EUR currency in real-time.

To spend XRP using Binance Card, users are instructed to go to Card Dashboard on the app, click Payment Priority and then edit to add, remove or rank cryptocurrencies for spending according to their choice.

Per the announcement, “the card is available to Binance users living in the EEA and Ukrainian refugees residing in the EEA country (Binance Refugee Crypto Card) at the moment.” Some of the countries where the card is accepted are Italy, Germany, Sweden, Portugal, France, etc. 

“Binance Card has added XRP, SHIB, and AVAX to the list of supported cryptocurrencies,” Binance tweeted

With the inclusion of XRP, Shiba Inu (SHIB), and AVAX on August 5, the Binance Card has now integrated 14 cryptocurrencies into its technology. Other cryptocurrencies supported on Binance Visa Card include ADA, AVAX, BNB, BTC, BUSD, DOT, ETH, LAZIO, PORTO, SANTOS, SHIB, SXP, and USDT.

Binance Card is a debit card supported by Visa and distributed by the financial institution Swipe. The card is issued by the licensed entity UAB Finansinės paslaugos, Contis, according to Binance.

Ripple Opens Engineering Hub

In a Thursday tweet, Ripple (XRP) has made a strategic expansion to drive crypto innovations in Toronto, despite its long standing XRP lawsuit with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The company’s financial technology has also recorded many adoptions from financial entities

As a crypto solutions company, Ripple focuses on expanding its global presence. It has officially opened its Engineering Hub in Toronto, which is the company’s first landing in the Canadian territory. 

Ripple unveiled the plans for this key engineering hub in late June. Back then, the blockchain payment firm said it plans to hire only 50 blockchain engineers in the metropolis at the initial stage.

The crypto solutions company noted that it plans to employ hundreds of blockchain software engineers across the globe in the future. Also, Ripple has continued to invest in different communities through many charity donations.
