Ripple CTO David Schwartz has recently discussed advancements in blockchain security, making things easy for those who are not especially tech-savvy (ordinary people).
In a new post on X, HighVibeAssets, the Co-founder of Algopear, emphasized that mass adoption of cryptocurrency will only be achieved once institutions can securely custody digital assets.
Tagging a video on this subject matter by David Schwartz, he argued that the majority of users will not need to understand private keys or the technical mechanisms of blockchain, noting that user-friendly solutions will be key to growth.
In his words, “Soon you won’t even know what a private key is. Truth is mass crypto adoption comes when institutions can custody crypto. Ripple has built custody infrastructure through numerous acquisitions.”
His remarks place focus on institutional involvement as a foundation for wider market acceptance. According to his perspective, the infrastructure developed by Ripple through its acquisitions provides a framework that can help bridge the gap between complex blockchain processes and a seamless user experience for mainstream financial consumers.
Ripple CTO’s View on Accessibility
The post was accompanied by a video of Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, who elaborated on the importance of simplifying blockchain usage for the general public. Schwartz stated that blockchain adoption cannot rely on individuals having deep knowledge of the technology or the role of private keys.

Instead, he believes that mass adoption will occur when financial services built on blockchain function in a way that allows people to use them without understanding the underlying infrastructure.
He suggested that Ripple is close to advancing solutions that make this possible, describing the current stage as being only “a couple of months away from turning some of those corners.”
According to Schwartz, the aim has been to provide financial services that ordinary people can use naturally, without requiring additional steps or technical knowledge. He underscored that this goal has been central to Ripple’s long-term development efforts.

User Reactions to Simplicity in Adoption
Comments from other users reinforce the idea that complexity is a barrier to growth. Mike Gehosky, responding to the video, said that “99% of the users do not need to understand the technology and how it works, it needs to be highly simplistic.”
He pointed out that requiring multiple steps for actions such as account creation or sending money undermines usability and slows adoption. From his perspective, solutions need to reduce friction and resemble the ease of use expected in traditional financial platforms.
The Importance of Custody Infrastructure
HighVibeAssets’ observation about Ripple’s acquisitions highlights the strategic importance of custody solutions in driving mainstream crypto adoption. Custody infrastructure provides secure management of digital assets, which is particularly relevant for institutional participants such as banks, asset managers, and corporations.
By ensuring that these entities can handle digital assets in a regulated and secure manner, Ripple’s approach could enable broader market participation and reduce technical barriers for retail users who interact with simplified services built on top of these systems.
