Charles Hoskinson, the CEO of Input Output Global (IOG), who created Cardano (ADA), has questioned BitPay’s choice of listing the hottest meme token, Shiba Inu (SHIB), ahead of Cardano (ADA) after a poll won by the largest proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain.
On 8th December 2021, BitPay, the largest crypto payment firm, posted a poll on Twitter that asked users which cryptocurrency to support next. In the poll, the payment company included Cardano (ADA), Tron (TRX), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Chainlink (LINK), Algorand (ALGO), and 15 others.
The poll obviously ended in favor of Cardano (ADA) but BitPay went ahead to do the opposite.
On 9th December, BitPay announced the integration of Shiba Inu (SHIB) into its wallet app, impressing the Shiba Inu community in the process.

BitPay tweeted, “ATTENTION: #shibarmy, we’re excited to announce consumers can now pay and merchants can immediately accept Shiba Inu (SHIB) for payments.”
Adding support for SHIB token implies that the meme coin has now joined the likes of Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and a number of other stablecoins, on the crypto payment platform.
Cardano Creator Questions BitPay’s Choice
After the announcement, Cardano creator, Charles Hoskinson showcased his discontentment with BitPay’s choice of listing Shiba Inu (SHIB) ahead of Cardano (ADA) which distinctly won the poll.
