Shortly after the CEO of Flare Networks Hugo Philion called out Brian Armstrong, for his exchange’s radio silence over the FLR token airdrop, the largest United States crypto exchange Coinbase, finally affirmed its support for the FLR token airdrop.
This development comes nearly two weeks after the Flare Networks team confirmed the date for the FLR Token Distribution Event. Notably, at the time of the announcement by Flare, Coinbase was listed among the exchanges yet to affirm support for the FLR airdrop to XRP Holders.
Eligible users that held XRP on the United States-based digital assets marketplace have demonstrated their excitement following Coinbase’s latest stance on the FLR token airdrop. The Flare Networks team has equally commended Coinbase for its support.
“Coinbase intends to honor our prior commitment to our customers to support Flare Networks’ FLR airdrop,” the exchange wrote on Twitter.
However, the exchange noted that the FLR token airdrop and trading will not be available for certain locations including Germany, Japan, New York, and Singapore.
“While we cannot guarantee support for any particular jurisdiction, FLR trading, and the associated FLR airdrop, is expected to generally be available in Coinbase’s supported jurisdictions, with the exception of Germany, Japan, New York, and Singapore,” Coinbase added.
Coinbase intends to honor our prior commitment to our customers to support @FlareNetworks’ FLR airdrop.

According to the Flare Networks team, the FLR Token Distribution Event is slated to be held on the 9th of January 2023. Several exchanges like Binance, Kraken, Crypto.com, and OKX have agreed to distribute FLR to their customers within 2 weeks of the TDE date.
But Coinbase said it would issue the FLR airdrop tokens within the first half of 2023. The exchange reiterated that only “customers in approved jurisdictions who held XRP on the snapshot date of Dec. 12, 2020, at 00:00 UTC will qualify to receive FLR tokens.”
