XRP has spent the past ten weeks consolidating between $1.25 and $1.60. Positive news has continued to flow into the ecosystem. Price has not moved significantly in either direction.
Crypto analyst ChartNerd addressed this tension directly in an X post, offering a technical explanation for the prolonged compression.
The setup is straightforward. XRP is caught between a $1.50–$1.60 resistance ceiling and a $1.30–$1.25 support floor. Many XRP holders have noticed the disconnect between positive developments and price performance. ChartNerd’s analysis cuts through the noise and points to chart structure as the reason.
I honestly get it..
The last 10 weeks of $XRP price action have been frustrating say the least. We are caught between a $1.50/60 resistance ceiling, and a $1.30/25 support floor. People are asking questions as to why we are receiving such good news and developments, with no… pic.twitter.com/2wezfYUluS

Compression Between Two Weekly EMAs
ChartNerd identifies the 20 and 50 weekly exponential moving averages as the key technical boundaries. Price has been stuck between them for roughly two months. During that time, it has formed a parallel channel visible on the chart above.
This is what ChartNerd calls compression on a multi-month scale. XRP ran approximately 70% to the upside before entering this phase. According to the analyst, consolidation of this kind after a large move is “actually quite normal to witness from a technical perspective.”
The chart supports the reading. Price has bounced repeatedly within the range without establishing a clear direction. Neither buyers nor sellers have taken control.
Two Scenarios to Watch
ChartNerd lays out two possible outcomes. The first is a clean break above the resistance wall, which would signal continuation higher. The second is a loss of the support floor, which would point to continuation lower. Until one of those levels gives way, ChartNerd expects “chop between these price ranges.”
The analyst’s advice to holders is to pay attention to structure and tune out social media noise. Developments in the XRP ecosystem remain positive, but ChartNerd cautions against expecting an immediate price correlation.
Community Response
Not everyone shares the same belief. Community member MericaFurst offered a different explanation, stating “supply is outpacing demand” as the reason price has stalled despite good news.
Commenter Avy took a broader historical view, contrasting the current range with a hypothetical consolidation at much higher prices: “Last year we should have gotten trapped between $5.89 and $2.589. Instead we will get trapped between $1.589 and $0.589.”
Confirmation Remains the Priority
ChartNerd’s position is that confirmation matters above all else. The technical structure currently in place requires a decisive move before any directional conclusion is valid. Until that happens, XRP remains range-bound, and the analyst sees no reason to read more into the current consolidation than the chart already shows.
