Crypto proponent John Squire has pushed back on the idea that portfolio size defines wealth, separating himself from a viral video claim that holding just 10 XRP could eventually make someone a millionaire.
Squire Puts Financial Freedom Above Holdings
Squire noted in an X post that real wealth has nothing to do with how much XRP someone owns. He said having enough money to live life on your own terms matters more than watching a portfolio grow, and that financial freedom means more to him than rising numbers.
His message landed alongside a video making a far more ambitious claim about XRP’s potential role in the global financial system.
Being wealthy isn’t about how many XRP you hold.
It’s about having enough money to live life on your own terms.

Video Describes a 10 XRP Millionaire Scenario
The speaker in the video questioned targets of 1,000 or 5,000 XRP that circulate in the community and referenced his own history in the market, noting he entered when XRP traded at approximately $0.07.
He recalled an earlier conversation about how much XRP people might need to become wealthy. In the scenario he described, the XRP Ledger would eventually handle the majority of currency transfers worldwide.
Under those conditions, he suggested an average person would need only 10 XRP to reach millionaire status. He went further, claiming that even owning one XRP could become extremely rare and that only genuinely wealthy individuals would be able to hold 10.
The video did not provide a timeline, a calculation, or a demonstrated mechanism to support any of those figures. The scenario remains a hypothetical.
Commenters Push Back
The prediction drew criticism in the comments section.
One user, wenmoon, rejected it outright: “In no world will this ever happen and shame on you for pushing a 100k XRP price target.”
Another commenter, truthseeker, questioned the speaker’s credibility: “How to Lose all your credibility in one tweet!”
Both responses reflected broader skepticism toward extreme XRP price targets and the assumptions required to justify them.
No Mechanism Supports the Prediction
Increased activity on the XRP Ledger could influence demand for XRP, but demand alone does not guarantee a specific token price. The video offered no model connecting global settlement volume to a $100,000 or higher valuation per token, and no analysis showed how 10 XRP would reach $1 million in value.
Squire’s focus on financial freedom rather than token accumulation offered a contrast to that kind of speculative framing, though neither position addresses what XRP’s actual trajectory might look like.
