Expert Says the XRP Triangle Pattern Is Nearing Its Conclusion. Here’s What It Means

XRP could soon face a decisive technical move as its price continues to compress within a triangle pattern. Crypto enthusiast Cleo Schmidt expects the pattern to resolve soon and gives an upside breakout a 65% to 70% probability. She assigns a 30% to 35% probability to a downside breakdown, leaving both outcomes open as XRP approaches a critical point on the chart.

Schmidt shared her analysis on X and pointed to declining volatility and continued price compression as key features of the current setup. She also noted that the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) continues to recover, which could support improving momentum if buyers push XRP above the pattern.

However, Schmidt did not treat the current indicators as a confirmed bullish signal. Instead, she emphasized that XRP must break through a specific trendline before the market can establish a stronger directional bias.

MACD Recovers as RSI Remains in a Healthy Zone

Schmidt highlighted the MACD recovery as one of the more constructive developments in XRP’s current technical structure. Traders often use the indicator to assess changes in momentum and identify potential shifts between buying and selling pressure.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) also remains within what Schmidt describes as a healthy zone. She noted that the RSI has neither entered oversold territory nor reached strong bullish momentum.

This combination gives XRP a relatively neutral momentum profile. The RSI does not currently signal excessive selling pressure, but it also does not provide the type of strong bullish reading that could independently confirm a breakout.

Schmidt therefore expects the triangle pattern to provide the next major technical signal. She assigns a higher probability to an upside move but still recognizes the possibility of a breakdown.

3-Month Close Above Trendline Could Confirm Breakout

Schmidt identified a 3-month (3M) close above the blue trendline as the key confirmation for the bullish scenario. She believes such a close could unlock significant upside potential for XRP and strengthen the case for a sustained move higher.

If XRP confirms the breakout, Schmidt expects traders to monitor $1.70 first. She then identifies $1.88, $2.40 and $2.90 as the next major levels in the projected sequence.

The price targets suggest that XRP could encounter several important levels as the market evaluates the strength of any breakout. Schmidt does not present the targets as guaranteed outcomes. Instead, she uses them to outline a potential path for a confirmed move above the triangle.

For now, XRP remains within the technical setup Schmidt described. Declining volatility, recovering MACD, and neutral RSI continue to shape the pattern, while the 3-month trendline remains the main level she wants traders to watch.

Schmidt ultimately expects XRP to make a directional move as the triangle approaches its conclusion. The next major signal will come from the pattern’s resolution, with a confirmed close above the trendline providing the clearest indication of a potential move toward the $1.70, $1.88, $2.40, and $2.90 levels.
