Analyst Says XRP Will Underperform Against Bitcoin. Here’s when and why

XRP has broken down against Bitcoin. However, the XRP army has not lost faith. Jake Claver weighed in on the move, describing it as the last bottom before the jump.

ChartNerd (@ChartNerdTA), a prominent analyst, has tracked this move since June, and he believes XRP will outperform Bitcoin for the rest of the year.

Back in early June, ChartNerd first confirmed the breakdown. He noted that a rally into prior support was possible following a drop to the lower $1.20s. This analysis came during XRP’s sharp decline at the start of the month. The analyst warned that continued XRP weakness would cause XRP to “fall like a knife through butter as capital flights to safety.” That warning proved accurate.

The Wedge Breaks

The chart shows a falling wedge, with a resistance line sloping down from 2025 highs and a horizontal support line that XRP eventually lost. ChartNerd labeled this point the “Lost Support.” The price now sits at approximately 0.00001765 BTC, below that support level, approaching what he identifies as the wedge apex.

ChartNerd’s assessment is clear. He still expects XRP to outperform Bitcoin in 2026. The breakdown is already confirmed. While he did not set an upside target, he said a reversal will follow.

Demand Holds the Key

The second chart he shared pulls back to a macro view of XRP/BTC dating to 2014. It shows a long series of lower highs descending across more than a decade. Below all of it sits a thick horizontal demand zone at approximately 0.00000700 BTC, highlighted in green.

ChartNerd identifies this zone as the level that “triggered all major XRP/BTC outperformance periods and upwards swings in XRP/USD valuations.” Every time the price has reached this zone historically, significant recoveries followed. Notably, other experts have also predicted a bullish move for XRP against Bitcoin.

What the Pattern Suggests

ChartNerd has covered this structure since June. His view connects the short-term breakdown to a long-term setup. The current drop places XRP at a demand level that has historically produced its strongest moves against Bitcoin.

The wedge apex and the macro demand zone are converging. ChartNerd described major demand as “equally awaiting below.” Whether price reaches that zone in weeks or months remains open. The analyst once shared high expectations for XRP, and the structure says a breakout is imminent.
