Analyst to XRP Holders: Think About This for a Second

Circle’s announcement of the founding validators for its Arc blockchain has drawn attention to the institutions involved, but crypto analyst ChartNerd is looking beyond Circle’s list.

He pointed to the number of companies already connected to Ripple and suggested that those relationships could become important if Ripple receives full approval for its banking plans.

Circle’s Arc Brings Major Institutions Together

Coin Bureau reported on X that BlackRock, Visa and Mastercard are among the 11 founding validators selected by Circle for Arc, a USDC-powered Layer-1 blockchain designed for institutional payments and tokenized financial assets.

The other named validators include DTCC, Galaxy, Global Payments, ICE, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered and Sumitomo Corporation. ChartNerd highlighted the significance of the group and asked his followers to consider the potential implications for Ripple.

He specifically pointed to Circle’s Arc as an example of major financial institutions participating directly in blockchain infrastructure. According to ChartNerd, the development comes ahead of Circle’s recently secured full National Trust Bank approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

ChartNerd Points to Ripple’s Existing Relationships

ChartNerd then shifted the focus to Ripple, explaining that the company already has relationships with several institutions appearing in Circle’s Arc validator group.

He highlighted Ripple’s longstanding strategic partnership with SBI Group, which he said spans more than a decade and is supported by SBI’s reported 9% equity stake in Ripple. He also referenced Ripple’s connections involving BlackRock’s BUIDL and RLUSD smart-contract capabilities with Securitize, as well as tokenization pilots involving JPMorgan and Ondo.

ChartNerd further pointed to Mastercard and its work involving agentic payments on the XRP Ledger. He also identified Standard Chartered as a longstanding Ripple investor and supporter.

The analyst later added DTCC to his discussion, noting that Ripple Prime is also a participant in tokenization services.

Ripple’s Regulatory Timeline

ChartNerd also raised Ripple’s regulatory position as part of his assessment. He stated that Ripple has until July 2027 to secure full approval under the OCC guidelines, which is 18 months following its conditional approval in December 2025.

He suggested that a fully developed Ripple infrastructure stack could potentially serve institutions across the asset lifecycle if the company receives full approval. His comments connected this possibility with Ripple’s existing relationships across payments, tokenization and financial infrastructure.

XRP and RLUSD Positioned for Institutional Expansion

ChartNerd, rounding up his tweet, stated that XRP and RLUSD are positioned within this evolving institutional environment. His comments do not establish that the institutions named by Circle will adopt Ripple’s technology or XRP. Instead, he emphasized the existing relationships between Ripple and several members of Circle’s Arc validator group.

The comparison comes as major financial companies continue exploring blockchain infrastructure for payments and tokenized assets. For ChartNerd, the key question is what Ripple could achieve if it combines its existing institutional relationships with a broader infrastructure stack and receives the regulatory approvals it is pursuing.
