Ripple SVP Drops A Bombshell on XRP

Ripple’s institutional strategy came into focus after Jack McDonald, the company’s Senior Vice President of Stablecoins, discussed several of Ripple’s recent partnerships during an interview with Grayscale.

Crypto commentator Crypto X AiMan weighed in on the discussion, describing it as an important update for XRP holders and pointing to McDonald’s comments on Ripple’s work with Mastercard, JPMorgan, OKX, and Ondo Finance.

The commentator, in his tweet, said the interview provides insight into how Ripple is expanding institutional infrastructure through the XRP Ledger while continuing to develop the RLUSD stablecoin. He also emphasized that Ripple later reposted the interview on its official X account, describing that as a notable sign of the company’s confidence in the announcements.

Ripple’s Institutional Focus Explained

During the interview, McDonald explained that Ripple has remained focused on serving financial institutions by building infrastructure designed for enterprise-level use. He said the company’s mission has always centered on creating what Ripple called the “Internet of Value” through institutional-grade payment and settlement solutions.

McDonald then discussed one of Ripple’s latest announcements, confirming that Ripple is working alongside Mastercard, JPMorgan, and Ondo Finance on initiatives in which trades settle on the XRP Ledger. He described the development as an exciting step for the company’s institutional business.

The Ripple executive also spoke about the company’s expanding stablecoin ecosystem. He noted that RLUSD has grown to a market capitalization of approximately $1.6 billion since its launch and said Ripple is placing greater emphasis on long-term utility than on market capitalization alone.

According to McDonald, Ripple initially focused on making RLUSD available across major exchanges while building the supporting infrastructure through market makers and custodians. With that foundation largely in place, he said the company is now concentrating on developing practical use cases for institutions.

Crypto X AiMan Connects Partnerships to XRP Ledger Growth

After playing McDonald’s remarks, Crypto X AiMan said the interview answered questions about how RLUSD and XRP fit into Ripple’s broader ecosystem. He noted that McDonald specifically referenced trades settling on the XRP Ledger, saying this demonstrates that Ripple’s institutional partnerships involve the network alongside its stablecoin initiatives.

The commentator also highlighted McDonald’s comments regarding OKX, where RLUSD is being introduced for spot trading, derivatives trading, collateral, and additional institutional applications. He said these developments show Ripple is expanding its services across settlement, collateral management, and cross-border payments while building long-term infrastructure for financial institutions.
