XRPL Labs Creator Addresses Concerns About Xahau Replacing XRP Ledger

In a recent conversation with the XRP community, Wietse Wind, the founder of XRPL Labs and a developer at Xumm, addressed concerns about the potential impact of Xahau, a sidechain linked with the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

Wind reassured community members that his team’s commitment to developing the XRPL remains unwavering, regardless of Xahau Ledger’s success.

The debate within the XRP community arose due to the predefined monetization plan for Xahau’s 8 Governance Game validator seats at launch. Critics expressed worries that once Xahau is fully operational and developers start receiving the initial allocation of 12 million XAH tokens as early validators, they might abandon the XRPL.

Wind clarified that Xahau was specifically created as a platform for Hooks, a smart contract proposal for the XRPL before it goes live on the mainnet. Even if Hooks isn’t deployed on the XRPL mainnet, Wind assured the community that his team would continue to support and enhance both the XRPL and Xahau.
