XRP whale wallets have accumulated approximately 2 billion XRP across two major buying periods in September, according to crypto commentator Austin Hilton. Hilton examined on-chain data showing that wallets holding at least 500,000 XRP continued to increase their holdings as XRP moved through different price levels.
Hilton focused on the timing of these purchases and large XRP holders‘ behavior during both market weakness and recovery. He said the data showed whales bought even as the market could decline further.
The first major accumulation period ran from September 16 to September 19. Hilton said whale wallets accumulated approximately 1.54 billion XRP during roughly 96 hours. XRP dropped to around $1.26 during that period, and Hilton said whales used the decline to increase their holdings.
He noted that market participants, including himself, had discussed the possibility of XRP falling below $1. Despite that possibility, large wallets continued buying XRP.

Whales Continued Buying as XRP Recovered
Hilton identified another major accumulation period between September 21 and September 24. During those five days, whale wallets added another 470 million XRP.
Hilton valued those purchases at approximately $724 million. He said the wallets continued buying as XRP climbed between roughly $1.49 and $1.64.
This second period gave Hilton another example of large holders increasing their XRP exposure after the market had already moved higher. He said whales did not limit their purchases to the earlier decline around $1.26. Instead, they continued accumulating during the recovery.
Hilton calculated that the two periods produced approximately 2 billion XRP in total whale accumulation, with the purchases representing nearly $3 billion based on the values he discussed.
Nearly 4,200 Wallets Hold Billions of XRP
Hilton also examined the wallets behind this activity. He said nearly 4,200 wallets currently meet his definition of XRP whale wallets because each wallet holds at least 500,000 XRP.
Those wallets collectively control just under 52 billion XRP, according to Hilton. He said that amount represents slightly less than 4% of XRP’s total supply.
Hilton believes these wallets could continue accumulating XRP at higher prices. He said whales could keep buying around $2 or $2.50 because they approach their positions through a longer-term financial calculation rather than an emotional response to short-term price movements.

Hilton Discusses a Potential $10 XRP Price
Hilton also examined the market capitalization XRP would reach at $10. With XRP trading around $1.59 in his discussion, he estimated that a $10 XRP price would produce a market capitalization of about $695 billion.
He placed that figure within the broader cryptocurrency market and discussed the potential for additional liquidity to enter the sector over the coming months and year.
Hilton said he will continue tracking whale activity through on-chain data. He ended by emphasizing the continued accumulation from large XRP wallets.
