Crypto commentator Digital Asset Investor (@digitalassetbuy) shared a post highlighting an observation from analyst CharuSan that has gained traction among XRP holders.
The argument is that XRP has not yet begun trading as a commodity. Institutional adoption has not started. According to CharuSan, both conditions have to change before XRP reaches its full valuation.
The Commodity Argument
CharuSan’s position challenges how most people currently evaluate XRP. Market cap, the standard metric for stocks, does not suit the asset, as it is designed to function as an institutional bridge asset, liquidity tool, and digital commodity. Digital Asset Investor agreed with this view and has made similar arguments for years.
The significance is that XRP’s current price does not yet reflect commodity-based valuation or real institutional utility. CharuSan stated, “XRP still hasn’t started being priced like a commodity yet, and institutional adoption hasn’t begun either.”
He concludes that once commodity-style valuation takes hold and utility-driven growth arrives, the asset reprices. Digital Asset Investor shares that view and says he will not be second-guessing his position when it happens.

Elon Musk’s Grok: $10 per Week Invested
Digital Asset Investor used historical data to support his accumulation strategy. Through Grok AI, he examined what would have happened if someone invested $10 per week in XRP during the last bear market. The result: a total investment of $600 to $650 would have grown to $2,800 to $3,500 at the peak of the following bull run.
XRP bottomed between $0.28 and $0.31 in late June 2022, an 85% drop from the prior peak. It then consolidated between $0.30 and $0.90 through mid-2024 before the bull phase pushed it to $3.65. His takeaway is that accumulating during downturns has produced results in every prior cycle, and he expects the same outcome again.
Regulatory and Institutional Tailwinds
Digital Asset Investor covered several developments relevant to XRP’s institutional path. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is scheduled to speak at the SALT Conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to discuss modernizing financial infrastructure, with a White House appearance expected shortly after.
Bitwise’s Matt Hogan noted that wealth management platforms controlling roughly $20 trillion in assets are beginning to add crypto to model portfolios. He called those allocation decisions among the most significant catalysts ahead.

The CLARITY Act remains a separate legislative variable, with prediction markets currently pricing passage at around 20%, though regulatory progress continues regardless.
